Ever heard a the saying that every story has a grain of truth? I'm pretty sure a lot of the stories in the bible did happen but in a similar version. As the stories get passed down the wording may change throughout the generations.

Define Godly - you mean following yourself or following our Creator? There is a difference between being good and being Godly - being good is just our exterior appearance, being Godly is integrity when no one is watching and following the commands from God. If that is the case why would you want to make up and add to the bible?

You can say whatever you want about the nature of God. As a matter of fact, you may get lucky like some organizations (think the Remnant Fellowship) and you will end up with a following.

Who says you're a good and godly man? You? So, you presume to be God Himself, then.
The prophets were blessed with proclaiming the word of God. You are not. If you say you are, you can prove it by prophesying one thing that comes true. Not general, but detailed, occurrence, date, who, what, where ,why, and when. True prophets of God can do that.

How do you know you are good and Godly if the nature of god is made up? Where do you get the concept of good? Your feelings? Your imagination? Communal evolution? Objective revelation, my friend, that is reinforced repeateadly, is basis of scripture.

Because you're too smart and know that you'd be making it up. The authors of the Bible thought they were getting actual messages from God.

You can of course everyone can and many do. You probably have too. So whats your problem? The calender is just a method of keeping track of time. It works pretty good. Why try and make something else out of it? xx
