I love sweets, but I'm also trying to lose a few pounds. I have found that every time I start to crave them, I make myself drink a lot of water and wait 5 minutes. If I still want them after that time, then I'll have a small amount, and drink more water while I eat it. It usually works really well, and that way I am drinking more water too. So far, I have lost 11 pounds, and I don't really feel like I'm missing out on anything.

Mittens day and night

Unable to open the packet

Simply don't buy any. Remove the temptation and you would not be able to eat the fattening foods

Good luck with the weight loss

Post a Q in six months to say whether you did it or not. There you go now you have a target as well

Well weight gain has been PROVEN to be linked to human biology (The human mouth being generally larger than the buthole), but seriously, just visualise yourself looking thin. Think about the amount of crap you eat when eating sweets, for instance sugar, is a refined chemical, basically zero nutrients with a habit formming taste, one teaspoon lowers your immune system for up to 5 hours, and affects your blood sugar, which can lead to other problems. It is a carbohydrate which is converted to fat in your body and stored, whereas fat it self is usually excreted without being stored, hence the success of the Atkins Diet seemingly at odds with modern day nutritionists. Anyway, good luck

If your so tempted to eat some sweets, think about how you will never achieve the body you want to get if you eat them. Think about how you will be guilty that you ever ate those sweets and how fat you will feel because you gave in to eating them. I hope this helps Good luck! x

Eating sweets is just a habit. I found out I had heart problems, am diebetic, and high cholesterol. I had to make myself stop eating all sorts of things. After a while you don't crave them anymore.

Willpower. Sugar is a poison and you should treat it as such. I stopped eating sugar and lost 54 lbs in 9 months (See my before and after picture here http://www.healthandstrength.net )
Supplements that I found to help along were cinnamon extract and chromium. They help to stabilize your blood sugar levels so you don't crash and end up craving. I refuse to eat sugar. It is one of the most unnatural things a human can ingest. The only form that is natural is when it is in a fruit. :)
Good luck!

not having a sweet-tooth in the first place....try cutting down your sugar intake but not completely. So instead of having maybe 2 sugars in your tea take 1 and a half and gradually reduce your sugar, such as sweets, jam etc.

Don't just stop having sweets because that will make you carve them more. Cut down gradually eat more fruit and veg and more dried fruits like apricots raisins or dried apples
