For my 16b-day I want to ask for a lamborghini murcielago LP640
Is that a lot to ask for?? My parents said ok, but have not said anything since. How much does it cost?? I am sure they have the money, but is it too much for a 16yr old girl to have?? They said yes to a prsche but not to this.
Will they probably not get me one??

My b/f has a different model. My friend is asking for a porsche. And my parents said OK to a porsche so why not a lamborghini??

A Lamborghini is a very powerful car and at 16 you aren't exactly mature enough to handle something that powerful. A Porche is better but still a powerful engine. It's nice having the status (my parents are wealthy too so I am probably one of the few that will understand your situation) You're so young and with a car that fast you will be tempted to race hence putting your entire life in danger. You will most likely crash or total this car only because you are 16 and just about every kid that gets a new car this young has proven to crash it at one point or another. A lamborghini is a $100k+ car...why not get something that you can soop up like an infiniti or S2000? Better street racing cars.
I'd say your parents would be crazy to get you something like that. Besides, remember jealous kids will scratch and try to ruin your car like they did mine. Keep that in mind too.

My parents bought me one car. Just one and that was the last one they were going to buy. It cost $800 and was a very used Chrysler Le Baron convertible. However they did contribute to the second car when the first one only lasted 1 year because the frame for the top was so bent it wouldn't seal and the whole car developed mold. My parents could have afforded to buy me a brand new car (of normal price level) but instead decided to put it towards more important things...IE my college fund. You shouldn't have a car like that...it's just stupid. You're going to get tired of your first car in a month or two and start wishing for something else. That's the way teenagers work. So what's the point in getting you something good when you won't appreciate it anyway. Tell them to save it for you...and then you can use it as a down payment on a house or something. That's too much money to ever spend on a car.

If you were my girl I would tell you that if you can get a job and pay for 1/2 then I would foot the other 1/2 I would also give you a time limit..
I think you should try and learn how much it takes to make the money that is going to pay for the car you want.
Why not just ask for a car and see what they get you.... If it has four wheels and runs good then you should be happy..

Your parents must be loaded.Yes i would think that would be alot to ask for. I didnt get a car till i was 18.And that was a VW Beetle. I cant imagine what the insurance on a car like that would be.I would get something not quite as expensive as that for a first car. But if folks have the money its up to them. You sound like you can get anything you want and if you ask me you are a spoiled child.

I don't think it's alot if your parents have the money but sweetheart do you know that someone had to work very hard at whatever it is they do to get you in a position to afford those things. If I had it, I'd definitely buy one for my son but I'd also teach him no to be rotten and the value of a hard earned dollar. If they said o.k., they probably will but if they don't please don't hurt their feelings by acting mad.
Remember, parents have to think of your safety as well!
