I ask this because I get "looked down upon and also people are confused and curious of this" because I dont like people just for what they claim to be but for who they are in the inside and I personally beleive I do not know this until I meet the person and know them for some time.

Not a sin and never will be. Interaction with all peoples of the world is at the forefront of the teachings of any religion. Respecting the other religions is like respecting the whole concept of that person's background, race, ideology, culture etc. Keep going. International friends are quite cool too.

Well I'm not a catholic but as a child and teenager I had lots of friends who where catholics and it never bothered them that i wasn't. I was not a Muslim then but i am now and from a Muslim perspective i can tell you I have catholic friends and relatives now and I dont recall them ever saying our friends ship was a sin. As a Muslim i am free to be friends with whomever i like and treat people as human beings first. I would never dream of saying to someone Oh you are a Hindu well I'm sorry but i dont agree with your religion so we cant be friends. How childish and immature does that sound? Be friends with who you want, a decent human being is a decent human being whatever religion they are.

its not a sin at all. The other person that judge u and ur relationship with other human being is making a big sin, coz they are a racist and uneducated. Well the only different between u and me, example, only skin color, religion, and that would all, but we both have hearth and soul and brain to think. If only everybody ignore their physical differences, world will be a better place, in 2007 and future......

How could it be a sin to have friends? I mean.. for crying out loud!! If the Christian faith teaches nothing more, it teaches it's followers to "love your neighbor as you love yourself." You have some personal depth, keep it. It's a good thing.

P.S. The Golden Rule is to do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Not at all. Let me put it to you this way: Would you prefer to have a friend who is Catholic but treats you like dirt, or would you rather have a friend who is Jewish or Muslim and they treat you with tremendous respect and affection?

I've read some of your previous posts and I must say that I find it unfortunate that your faith seems to provide you with more misery than satisfaction. Your faith ought to be a source of comfort to you and not a wounding experience.

I think you are wiser then those who choose to "look down on you" good for you for looking at a person on the inside instead of judging them by there religion, dress, way of life etc. I think this is what Jesus would do and you should not let others who aren't as wise as you make you feel bad. God bless!

No, it is not a sin. As a matter of fact, you are truly following Jesus' command of "love your neighbor as yourself."

Continue to be a shining example of God's love to those people who look down on you and are confused by what you are doing. Maybe some day they will understand Jesus' teachings as you do.

You are to be admired.

I would say your attitude exemplifies the best in human kind and I congratulate you on your overall perspectives. No, it is no sin in fact God asks us to embrace all people of all religions, races and creeds.

Having non-Catholic friends is not a sin and may be a virtue.

Catholics live in the world, we love our neighbors, and we do not discriminate based on religion.

It would be un-Christian and un-Catholic to break off from your friends because of their religious faith.

With love in Christ.
