I'm going to take my dad on a hunt. Last year we went to Wyomiming for antelope and muley (taggeg out)!. However, this year we want another trip. I'm going to team up with a frien and his pop.

we woud like to do a self-hunt that is relatively easy. Our Dads are getting older (late 60's) and the big hunts are a little tough on them. We all loved killing the antelope, but i'm looking for ideas on what else we can hunt. Also, where can we go to make it relatively easy for them? We are all from Michigan so any place that resembles a Michigan hunt would be about right - but we want to take some other big game other than white tail.

thanks in advance - Happy New year! All suggestions welcome!

Double C Ranch in Texas. I won a trip there at auction dirt cheap ($350 for three days). Not a bad place to go. I bagged two hogs (one weighed 185 lbs) and an Aoudad sheep. Two years ago, a group of us went to South Africa (Wiets Safari's). I harvested a Gemsbok, Red Hartebeest, Impala, Springbok and an Blesbok. They sure do look good hanging on my wall. That trip was won at auction also. There are so many big game hunting opportunities in the USA though. Try searching on-line, many, if not all of the reputable companies have websites. Shop around and get the best price possible. Visit whitetailsunlimited.com. Go to the next banquet (February 2007 in Lansing), they always put hunts up for auction, most of which are in the USA.

I would recomend an easy, but well worth, elk hunt. Nothin like a Huge 1000 lb bull 6 by 6. Get a Guide and let them do the work for you. Best elk hunting are Western States, Idaho, Colorado, Wyoming etc.

Call Dick Cheney...jusy kidding.

I'm from Wisconsin and there is Whitetail and Black Bear aplenty there. And in the fall it is SO BEAUTIFUL and peaceful. Tons of public land in the North and there are lots of special hunts to thin the population down there are so many. Turkeys are fun to get as well.

Otherwise Montana is awesome and provides a wide variety of big game to go after.

It depends on what your definition of big game is...My idea of big game would send you to africa near the ivory coast. Water buffalo and lions are quit the hunt.

if you can afford it go to Africa. You can't bring the meat back, & will have to shift the head's home. Might get pricy
