Islam has a rich heritage in China. The religion has had a presence in the country since the Tang Dynasty when a companion of Muhammad, Sa`ad ibn Abi Waqqas, was sent as an official envoy to Emperor Gaozang in 650 CE. The Emperor drew parallels between the religion and the teachings of Confucius and ordered the establishment of the first mosque in China

So it was popular there because of Mohammed, so therefore Shiites didn't really spread their "Sect" there..

There are no sects in Islam, Shia are not considered Muslims. They belong to the title Sunni which is Islam.

there r no sects in islam .. they r muslims like anyother muslim ...
races donot confine the boundry of islam .. its IMAAN n faith that does !
they r as imp muslims as any arab origin muslim is !!!!!
