I have Chinese and Japanese origins, and I was told by my grandpa this his dad was Japanese who married a Chinese royal and they were Muslims? The went to Saudi for Hajj and stayed there. How can I track them down? Is it possible that that happened? That a Japanese man marries and Chinese ( who was from royalty?)
Our name was either Yamamuto or Yamatu ...
and the only thing that proves to me that's true, is my grandpa's looks and my family's generation.

Hey Razan,

Did they become citizens, you can check Natruralization records. Also, SSA records which you can apply for, site below.

Try the LDS Family Search site also.

Are they still alive? You did not say. Get your parents Birth Certificates also. That will list your Grandparents as the parents of your parents, then get the Grandparents records too. Interview all of them that are still living. Get all the information you can on each individual. Births, Marriages, Deaths, residences, pictures, stories, obituaries, wills, probate, etc. By building a knowledge base of the people close to you, you will get more clues for the ones you search for.

The task that you have before you is not an easy one, yet it not always is impossible. Chinese and Japanese cultures are very strong family oriented. They frequently keep information on each of their ancesters.

You should start your search by going back from you to both of your parents, then your grand parents and so on, but since your grandfather is alive, you can skip a couple of difficult steps.

Ask your grandfather where was he born, and about all the members of his family. Then search for the birth records in that country (China and Japan). It may seem hard to believe, but most vital records were not distroyed during World War II (1939-1945).

Royals often keep their ancestry records at the National Archives. In China, those records were very much destroyed during the Revolution, but some records do EXIST for they were added to the commoner's records. In Japan, the Imperial Palace has a very extensive ancestry library where the information has been stored safely for centuries. I don't have their e-mail but you may be able to find China's and Japan's National Archives through Yahoo Search.

The search can be frustrating sometimes, but you shouldn't give up. Oh, I almost forget, Maybe the Chinese and the Japanese Consulates can give you a helping hand.

China, my Grandfather fought contained in the Pacific in the course of the warfare or perhaps as i change into growing to be up it truly is all I had to hearken to about. We weren't allowed to possess something made in Japan in the different case he'd toss it out.

I know a great website for this: It is called Ancestery! You can track down your ancestors for free! You can even make a family tree! It is very user-friendly, so try using it!

I don't think you can track people, but you can track things like planes and trains, if they end up getting on one.
