I can't think of another religion where adherents cannot agree on such a fundamental point. It's ludicrous.

Oh yeah, well there's the whole succession to Mohammed thing.

You have to keep in mind the scriptures say that Christ emptied Himself of all his godly attributes not considering equality with God something to be grasped. He did this when He became a little babe. He was a man in all respect when He was here, yet God in identity but not in power (in my opinion at least. there is some disagreement on this point). He did have supernatural power here, yes, but that was because He was the example to us what a man can do who is in perfect fellowship with God, and He is the only man to ever live who has accomplised this. He is our example. This being the case, there was still this thing of knowing when the second coming will be that the Father chose to hold back from granting Him for whatever reason.

Because the three persons in the God Head have very specific roles.
1. God the father is the creater and governor of all things
2. God the son came to redeem our sins by dieing (as man)and rising again (as God)
3. Holy Spirit the conduit through which we may be aware of God.

Also as you notice in #2 when Jesus said that he was man not God

Jesus also said, "My God, my God why have You forsaken Me?"
Jesus said, "If you've seen Me, you've seen the Father."
Jesus said, "the Father and I are One."
Jesus said, "I only do what I see the Father doing."
The ultimate purpose for Jesus' glorification is for the Glory of God the Father, for His honor.

Jesus was slain from the foundation of the world. Jesus was with God at Creation.

Philippians 2:6-11
Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
but made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name:
That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

God the Father, the Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit are One working differently but together.

At all times, Christ remained God, retaining the nature and attributes of God, but taking a human nature in order to have a ministry among men. On the few occasions when His glory was more fully revealed during His ministry, those who saw it were unable to bear it.

"Being in the form of God" signifies that Christ has eternally possessed the very nature of God. To own the nature of God is to be God and to be equal with the other personalities of the God head (namely, the Father and the Spirit)

"Thought it not robbery to be equal with God" means that Christ decided not to continue enjoying His heavenly existence; He enjoyed the same divine life-style in heaven that God enjoyed.

Aren't we glad, Jesus Christ did not maintain His heavenly existence? If He had not died on that cross and taken the sins of the world away, we would still be dead in sin and bound for eternal hell. But because I have accepted Jesus as my Savior, I am bound for eternal heaven with Him.

Praise your Holy name Father. Praise your Holy name Jesus Christ. Praise your Holy name Holy Spirit.

God the Father is Spirit and an all consuming fire. Power like we have never seen. Yet the Holy Spririt can dwell in us and not burn us up. And Jesus in a human body could walk among us because He emptied Himself so He could. Many theologians agree when Jesus cried "why have You forsaken Me?" that God the Father looked away when that cup of sin was poured out on Jesus. For one moment the Father did not look upon the Son or connect with the Son because of sin.

Jesus can say things like that because He isn't GOD, He is the Son of GOD.

because he is NOT, he is Gods son. As CLEAR as the bible is on this, people like to twist the scriptures and try to come up with complicated things like the pagan trinity godhead doctrine.
