You see don't read into it if it really doesn't matter to you because the truth is you will never know. It could either of what you said. So just leave it like that. If you get into this I wanna know thing he may perceive you being inquisitive as being on the same page as he is. So just leave it alone.

Ok, as a man: Yes and yes.
This is witty man-banter that costs nothing...and if it ever happens to work he'll take the opportunity. As long as you know what you want, the only question is: Is it too annoying, to you or your partner? If it is, ask him to knock it off. You're a couple and if he's going to continue to be your friend, he needs to be prepared to respect that. On the other hand, if it's not particularly bothering either of you, this has just become your friend's odd little quirk that you'll all be able to laugh about when you're forty.
Do what feels right. If it makes you cringe, or your partner want to punch this guy in the face...you've got to get that out in the open.

Why don't you ask him? If it's insulting enough to you that you feel the need for clarification, go to the source, not strangers. When he tells you what his intentions are, you can lay it out for HIM as you just did for us and save your 'partner' having to confront him for something that may be as innocent as a flirtation.

Well, he's your friend. Has he made passes at you before? Have he tried to get with you in the past? If the answer is yes, then you have your answer. If its just a casual flirting thing, then don't worry about it. And if it's not going to happen, why worry about it in the first place?

If you won't let it happen what's the difference? He's telling you how much he'd like to get into your bed etc. etc.
