Vanilla ice cream is also my favorite way to eat apple pie! It's really good heated in the microwave too. if you don't have any ice cream ,just heat a slice of pie in the microwave and eat it warm. It's very good and tastes like it's fresh out of the oven. You could also top it with whipped cream or caramel syrup for ane extra sweet treat. Cinnamon sugar and a little butter melted over the top would be good as well.

Granny Smith's are my favorite because they are crisp and tart. I think the Cortland apples when they first come into season are my next favorite for the same reason. Also, great eating and pie-making.
