I have an eight week old Brussels Griffion and he is sick with vomiting and now very lethargic. What can I do for him?

What did he get into? Try to give him some sugar water ASAP. He maybe hypoglycemic, caused from stress. Mix 2 tablespoons of sugar to 2 ounces of warm water - let sugar dissolve and see if he will drink, if not, spoon some into his mouth. He should "wake up" in 20 minutes or so. Sometimes very young pups get this from change and stress. Get some sugar water into him ASAP.

Yes, a cause for concern. I am guessing your vet will not see him until Monday during regular hours, so you will have to wait--but take him first thing tomorrow. Alert the vet to Terro and bring the container. Also alert the vet to the worming--if you did it rather than him, bring the wormer you used and show how much you gave. Some people, for example buy wormers for cattle rather than dogs thinking it will be fine, but the strength is lethal and will kill the dog. Assuming the vet wormed your dog, which is more likely, he may actually be vomiting up the whipworms. In any event, see the vet . Meanwhile, get some Pedialyte from Walmart or any store. Offer it in replacement of regular water in a small bowl. Do not fill the bowl--just enough for a normal drink. The electrolytes in it will evaporate, so you are wasting time and money by filling up the bowl. When he drinks, just add a little more as he consumes more of the Pedialyte Store the opened bottle in the fridge. Sick puppies seem to like it cold. Your vet will likely put him on Albon for a couple days if he suspects an infection, but meanwhile a sick puppy dehydrates extremely quickly so keep him hydrated with the Pedialyte.

Sounds like you need to get him to the vet ASAP if he's gonna survive. Doesn't take much vomiting for a pup that young to become dehydrated and die. And that he's lethargic isn't a good sign.

Since today is New Years Day, you might better call and make sure that your vet's open if not and you can't find another vet to take him to for the time being you should have an animal ER in your area so get him there, then again if you vet's not open and there is an area ER the call will go straight to them, they will know what to do and advise you to get you baby in immediately. Good luck with your little one.

Take your puppy to the vet now! With vomiting and not stopped soon, your puppy can get dehydrated. If not taken care of very soon, you could lose your puppy!

Hi
Could be a number of things, worms, parvo upset stomach. Keep him away from other dogs put him in a bathroom with blankets or his bed. Take an eye dropper and try to get water, gatorade, or pedialyte in him and please call an emergency vet. If it is parvo they can die within 72 hours of being sick.

Bring him to the vet asap! Look around and make sure he didn't get into any cleaners or other hazardous products--if he did you can tell the vet exactly what is wrong with him.

There is a possibility you are looking at parvo here, I would get your dog into the vet ASAP as most who are untreated, don't survive this.

He's probably getting dehydrated. I think you should take him to a vet. He may need fluid through an IV to restore is electrolytes.
