Some girls do it because their exs liked long hair. I suspect most do it just for a change, to have a new look accompany their new single status.

I don't know. I sure don't cut my hair just because I break up with someone. The only reason I would is if I wanted a different look...By the way I saw this type of thing in a movie recently. It's called Breakin All The Rules, Jamie Foxx and Gabriel Union are in it.

Unlike an outfit that you wear once and they wash and put away until you wear it again, your hair is 'worn' ALL THE TIME. Some women tend to relate their hairstyle to the man they were with. When they break up they like to move on by reinventing themselves and to do this many of them cut their hair. Sort of a - new hair, new you kind of thing. Hair is very preciosu to people, its a good way of defining yourself. For example, if someone has jet black hair with bangs over one eye, you can tell that they probably are different to say, a skinhead. Changing your hair is an outward sign of an inner reality and when you want to change that inner reality, you change your hair.

Miasays called this one...it's a way of rebelling against something they feel was a preference of a person they want to show they have no regard for, or at the very least have a different opinion than. Notice how women that shun the attentions of men that remind them of male authority figures(i.e. their daddies) also tend towards bad boys and self deprecating behavior? It's all based on the same principle...piercing body parts, dye jobs in clown colors, gothic clothing, target tattoos over your azz, etc. Eventually they come around, but for a while it feels decadent and freeing to them all...

Hair would not define gender. some women folk do exactly not want take it sluggish to sort their hair common, for this reason reducing it short take much less attempt. Others basically like it as their sort. i in my opinion think of it seems sturdy in case you have the face shape for it. Hairstylists decrease hair, it somewhat is their interest. not all heterosexual alternatives are like yours. in case you basically date women folk with long hair, then it is your selection, yet once you're basing a relationship on seems, then you definately will finally end up a lonely previous guy. that's 2011, women folk have short hair and positioned on pants. adult men positioned on extreme heels and lipstick. recover from it.

Not sure, but I suspect it's a psychological way of being done with the past. Personally, I like it. Shorter hair looks much better on a lady than long hair.

cutting their hair could mean all different things. Maybe there has been a weight off their shoulders so they cut the weight off their hair, maybe a sign of a new beginning. they want to do a drastic change......I dont know ask your friends.

To cut-off dead-ends is refreshing, quick and easy. Not to mention, that you usually come-off feeling younger, and looking younger, too, as a bonus to the metaphoric-intent.

I went from the middle of my back length to a crew cut. I did it because he said I couldn't cut it he loved it long. I was trying to get rid of him. It worked he was pissed.

It is a sense of freedom.
