Key word here is "technical", which takes Winky out of the running due to his decision to coast thru the 12th round in a fight he had to know was extremely close. Mayweather displaying "technical" proficiency is commonplace and goes without saying. This is why I gotta go with Calzaghe's dismantling of the overrated Lacy in their Unification Bout.

To say that Calzaghe took Jeff to school is an understatement. Like Larry Merchant said "Calzaghe took him to school and then failed him." Calzaghe ignored all the garbage in the media that hyped up Lacy and went into the fight focused and assured in his own skills. Joe even put an accent on this masterpiece when he put Lacy down for the first time in his career in the 12th. Was it the "FOTY"?? Possibly, but there are a few that give it competition for sure.
