my uncle brought a bottle of this back from german - no idea what it is, but it's very strong

Wacholder is juniper (berries). Doppel refers to the alcoholic content, which is usually 20% for licquers, so I'm assuming it's more like 40% (80 proof), which is more like vodka.

Wacholder is a prefix to an alcohilic beverage so schnapps is wacholderschnaps. Therefore it must mean double alcohol or it could be the fruit of a juniper tree

German schnaps... It's 38% alcohol by volume.

Sounds like a double gin. Not my favourite tipple and certainly not on Jan. 1st.

it is a type of liqure. it is good if you like it. there are some who don t like it. it is quite strong
