What are the possible side effects of taking out of date ibuprofen?

most medications don't lose their full potentency for a full two years after the expiration date.

the more time that goes on, the less effective the medication will be.

no side effects other than the medication not working as well as you want it to.

do not take more than the recommended dosage b/c you have no idea how much strength the medication has lost and you run the risk of overdosing which can cause serious liver damage

Never take anything that is expired. Its there for a reason.
Medications undergo stability testing upon submission to the Drug authoritites. Stability tests check for drug efficacy and if there are effects on the drug based on temperature and stuff. After certain storage conditions (including time) there are some medications that produce certain "spikes" or drug effects.

Drug companies do not test the effects of a drug that has expired.

Probably nothing but its better to be on the safe side, just go out and buy some more!

I doubt it would make you sick or anything, it would probably just be of less strength. So you might need to take two instead of one? Not sure. but good luck.

when i started work years ago things didnt have DATES on them and we survived
