The way I recommend doing it is to think about what it is that youre putting into your body. When you realize how gross junk food really is, you will maybe think twice about it. As with any habbit, it takes a while to break it and make healthy new habits. I say start with throwing out ALL the junk food you have and replacing it with a few days fruit supply. If its salty youre after, get some sunflower seeds. Theyre so good and not unhealthy. You really can find natures "junk food" just as appealing and so much healthier. Once you make those changes, you can start to even cut out regular foods that are less healthy. Like the one person said about red meat, etc.
And as everyone else would agree, you must exercise, though I read that it is a myth that morning exercise kick starts your metabolism. Exercise at any time of the day is as effective. When I get super hungry and crave junk food, I force myself to walk around outside for about 15 minutes. If that doesnt help, I drink a ton of water with lemon in it. Lemon is a natural appetite suppressant.
Hope this helps. Good luck in your quest!!

Thin is not normal.

Slender, or a slightly stocky form is a much more realistic body shape for a human. Some people are naturally very thin when they are young and then BAM!- they're just the same as everyone else. Forcing yourself to be thin may cause eating disorders.

Drink lots of water. The brain can often confuse hunger and thirst signals.

Each lots of fruit and veg. The next time you go shopping, have a look at the snack section and choose the sweets and snacks that have less calories than the others. This way, when you do eat a sweet, you wont beat yourself up over it. Try eating 70% cocoa chocolate, as it is far better for you (has no fatty milk solids and more antioxidants) and fills you up more! For crisps, you can buy brands that don't have salt on them. The key is to control what you are eating, not starve yourself.

Don't drink diet drinks (or anything with so-called suitable for diets 'aspartame'). They are really bad for you and will probably give you palpitations. Find a fruit juice/drink that is tasty that you can use in place of sugary drinks. There are many brands of fizzy drinks that don't contain much (or sometimes any) sugar, that are far nicer than the sugary sort.

Exercise regularly. If you find in general you have a round tummy despite lots of exercise, you may have an intolerance to wheat or dairy, or a food allergy.

Junk Food:

Pizzas - order a vegetarian pizza rather then the other sorts (it will have less oil and more health benefits). You can save calories by getting them to leave the cheese off, but add some chilis to boost the taste back up (spicy foods fill you up quicker).

Curries- Avoid pilau rice and naan breads, but have plain rice or a chapati instead. Have the main meal as a vegetarian curry (aloo gobi is YUM!) and if you do want bhajis, share them with a friend (they are super greasy).

Burgers - Get a veggie or bean burger. If you hold the cheese you save more calories and if you want fries or onion rings, share them with a friend.

... and so on. Life is about living life, not starving yourself or stopping yourself from eating the things you like.

To be slender, you need to eat well, sleep well and exercise!

You can still have some junk food and be pretty "thin". Its all about moderation, how often, and what kind of snack. For me, I absolutely LOVE chocolate, so what I do is, I do not touch any junk food for a week, but on fridays I allow myself a treat. The key is not going out of control or completely denying yourself because that would only drive you insane, despite many people claiming that over time the desire for it will disappear. I do not agree with that at all, it probably depends just on how much the person loves junk food. Some people, after time, can take it or leave it. Some people, even after a long time, want it everyday. Like myself. It's about discipline. Anyway, another piece of advice for having a cheat day and not feeling so guilty about it, rev up your exercise routine for that day and burn some extra calories to make up for the treat. On fridays, in preparation of my snack, I exercise extra and substitute my dinner with just veggies and fruits, that way I do not feel so guilty about it. Trust me, you don't have to give up on everything that you love, but at the same time, you can't let it control you.
Also, when eating a snack, find a healthier alternative. Do your research, there are plenty of snacks out there that make a better treat choice. Like baked chips, or whole-wheat multi-grain crackers. They taste great and are alot better for you! Of course, just because those are healthier than the original doesn't mean you can eat as much of it as you want. Its about self-control and how much you want to change your life. I hope this helps, good luck.

If you buy the groceries for the house, it's simple- just don't buy junk food! If it isn't there, you won't eat it. If this isn't a possibility for you, get a bright colored post-it note and write something encourgaging on it i.e. "Not eating this will save me 2 hours of excersicing", or "Celery is in the fridge!", or you could write the calorie/sugar/carbohydrate content on the post-it. If there is someone that you want to be as skinny as, you could tape a picture of him or her on the top of the cabinet to where you have to move it to get to the snacks.
Another idea is to move where you keep the snacks, and put healthy foods in their spot. Or, better yet, have someone move them for you so you don't know where they are.
A final idea is to make yourself drink 8 ounces of water every time you feel hungry. It will help you feel full, so if you do eat the junk food, you won't eat as much.
Good luck and happy new year!

I lost 105 pounds in 6 months. Here is how I did it.
1. Every morning get up and walk for 45 minutes. You can start with less time, but you want to get up to 45 minutes, and it must be fast walk. You want your heart rate to go up. It must be in the morning, it kick starts your metabolism.
2. I cut out Red Meat, and fatty foods. Boneless skinnless chicken breast, baked, or grilled, rice and vegetables (steamed).
3. Eat half. Just eat half of what you normally eat. Put 1/2 on your plate, and put the rest away. Cook less. When you go to fast food, get salads only. Or grilled chicken. No fries, only diet soda. Or water.

It will work, once you get into a routine, you will get hooked on the results, and you will keep the routine. It has been over a year for me.

A sight with some really cool diet calculators and interesting calorie counting calculators is here. Check it out.

If you exercise more, especially aerobics, you'll find that you eat less and eat better food.

I know that sounds paradoxical, but it really works. My MD backed me up on this too. For some reason, cravings for all those empty calories go away when you're fit. You still want calories, but you'll get it from good foods in balanced meals.

It takes a lot of work, but once you get used to walking a lot or doing low-impact jogging, you'll get to like it, feel better, and eat less.

Good Luck,

Discipline is key. And if you really want to be thin really bad, then you really, really have to commit yourself to stop eating junk foods. Cardio such as dancing 3 times a week will help, too.

If you really want to be thin then you have it within yourself to control yourself just like the alchoholic, drug addict or smoker has it within themselves to quit if they choose to do so. Here is a quote that I love: "Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels". Good luck.

The only thing you can do is just isolate yourself somewhere where there is absolutely no access to it. Tastes and habits adapt but it takes time. Have grapes, healthier options instead.
