Haha! Yes he was brown, but since the Romans were converted, and they controlled every thing, they were white, so that made Jesus white. Plus when your Deity is the same color as you, it makes it easier to believe. At least for some people anyway. Personally, regardless of what he is portrayed as, if he is going to talk to you in human form, he will take whatever shape will make you the most comfortable. Black, white, red, dressed in a suit, or in garbled clothing... He doesn't care as long as we believe and hold his truth in our hearts, humans are the only ones who make an issue out of things like this.

Because caucasions are the clever ones and control everything in the world and have done for centuries.
You are spot on Jesus would look the same as every other jew in the middle east. However rich white folk would not give money to church etc if he was portrayed any different.
Jesus in my opinion is as much the son of God as any other living creature and he indicated this himself. He just was switched on the the power of ones own conciousness.
Imagine we dont know about medium and physics etc and then you here about this person who can tell you things about past present and future.
There you have it, Jesus was in touch with his spiritual awareness. He didnt create christians they came after he died.
I believe in john edward.

You are right. It can be really annoying, specially if you see version of Blonde Jesus - which He couldn't be at all.
Yet, no one have seen and painted Jesus, so people just let their imagination run on that.
The practice of painting Jesus could be misleading for a true religious experiance - because the message of Christ is not resembled in the form of his face, but the ideas of His words.

I have always wondered this myself. I think he would have darker skin, more so than what most pictures show. But you have to remember God created man in his image - look how many different colors of skin there is... I try and not look at people for there color, but for the person inside - that's what really counts. So when I think of Jesus - I try not to imagine the pictures I see of him, I try to see the inside (the love, gentleness, etc.). The person that he really was. Because honestly no one really knows what color he was. But I agree he would have more than likely been darker.

Jesus was born into a area of the world that has people who have darker skin yes.
many people have suggested he would look more like what you said.
does he look that way i don't know . i do suspect that just as the bible was written by people that were inspired or guided by god it is likely i think that the paintings we see of Christ are right.
i am not worried about it as i am sure i will know him when i see him.

it's true, Jesus was a Semite, light brown skin and dark hair.
but the painters in the middle ages and Renaissance in Europe painted Jesus using local people as models, and these were not Semites.
Another issue was probably the tendency of the Catholic church to disguise the fact that Jesus was of Jewish origin, and painting him to look like a Jew would certainly remind people of that fact, since there were many Jews around, and the resemblance was hard to disguise.

the pa;intings are just color of paints from the imagination of the painter. It is not true and correct to say the painting as the same as Jesus Christ. Nobody have seen Jesus Christ nowadays and the paintings and images displayed over the market is not actually Jesus Christ colorj and not the true picture of Jesus, So with the graven image

As sala'amu alei'kum, aziza.
[Peace and blessings be upon you, friend. Arabic]
Jesus [pbuh] was actually 5'1" tall, had a slight limp and was pockmarked from His childhood infections and, yes He was darker hued and had black hair, common to the Aramaic Tribe that He belonged to.
However, the popular image of Him was based on the Shroud of Turin which was actually of a Knight Templar, who'd died after returning from the Crusades. It was a mistake, perpetuated by many Artists like Michelangelo and is still the most popular depiction.
Incidentally, He was born in Bait Lehem[House of the Baker; in the Manger of the barn outside], or Bethlehem, not Jerusalem.
May Peace and Blessings be upon all of you.
Ma sala'amah, ya aziza.
[Vaya con Dios. Arabic]

Jesus does have darker skin. People have always painted what they want , and how they see things, but according to the bible that is called Idolitry. That means making God in your own image. I have seen Jesus and I can tell you, he looks nothing like people imagine. Not one bit. To me he is gergous.
