Well first off dont wear some skanky clothes bc then he will know u are desperate for him to be impressed so just wear something that best describes who u are some jeans and a cute pollo would be good but it matters what is the cause.. if u are going to a movie carnival or something like that try some cute clothes from ar'eopostal - not sure if spelt it right -

I wouldn't overact, this can make you act different, which is usually bad. I would act like your self. If you act your self and he likes you then great, there is a good connection. If he dosent like you, then it is for the better, because he should like you for who you are, and if he dosent, then he is not your type. There is no sense in forcing it to work, because it usually leads to a bad relationship.
To decide what to ware, consider his type, I would dress to fit his style and personality. It sounds like he is super popular, so i wouldn't decide to go in any skirt or dress, that is to desperate, especially when a popular guy asks you out. I would dress in good jeans and a good shirt, plain, but good looking. Good Luck!
