sorry.
im 18 and as i could remember even if i was still a kid (around 10) i never liked sleeping next to the wall,i would only sleep if there's a pillow that separates me and the wall.i guess it's not the wall that im afraid of, but it's the hole between the wall and the bed.don't you think so?
what do you call this fear?

claustophobia - being affraid of small restricted places. quite common. learning a form of relaxation (often just deep breathing and self talk- reminding yourself it's ok etc, is enough), then using systematic desensitisation (gradually introducing yourself to these situations you dislike) can be very helpful.
once you've mastered the relaxation, then just start to think about being in a confined place. then when you can manage your anxiety this way, progress to the next level of exposure, ie, looking at a picture of a confined place - then physically being in a moderately small room, etc until you can remain calm, using your relaxation and self talk whilst in a confined space that would previously have had you experiencing great anxiety and panick.
a psychologist would be able to help you to do this if you need assistance.
good luck, and don't worry, it would have to be one of the most common phobias.

We all have our idiocincrincies....sometimes I find (all the time) that I cannot have anyone walking on my left side,...I am left handed, and for some reason, it makes me feel unbalanced and confined...so I wouldn't worry about it,...it is just the way you are...it is what makes you...I sure don't make excuses or question the reason I feel this way,...it is not fear, it is just something that is uncomfortable for some reason for you.
