if you're feeding a good quality puppy food, there's no reason to feed him anything else until he's fully grown. don't get him hooked on ppl food. it's just not good for them, and enhances tooth decay. you can give him dog biscuits if you feel the need to give him a treat. best of luck. i hope you have many happy years with him.

My pups Love raw veggies (carrots, Celery, broccoli). That is the only kind of people food I would ever feed them. Many husky families feed their dogs raw meat but they have special jobs that need special diets. I picked up a pup many years ago from a husky farm in the App.Mts. that gave their dogs deer -- whole deer. It was an amazing site. (The county dropped off their road kill)

HI
It is best to find a dog food and stick to it. People food causes pancreatitis in our foor legged fur babies. If you switch dog food it can give your dog diarhea so when you switch you need to do it slowly like 1/4 old new food and 3/4 new food the first day then 50-50 the next then 75% new food 25% old food the next day then 100% new food as far as snack goes to our dogs that are they right weight we give them bacon bits. to our pugs and frenchies that tend to be piggies we give them rice chex, they are fat free. It is the fats in people food that can give pancreatitis so when the dogs get the runs for no apparent reason I boil chicken and take the skin off and cook some rice then I mix it together this never seems to bother their tummies. There are a few things like yogurt to mix in with their food theat doesn't hurt them and once in a while I give them a slice of apple, I also cook boil the giblet that come in Turkeys and cut them into small pieces and divide them between 26 dogs so they get very little not to upset their tummies. My friend has a mixture of rice, yogart and dog food she feeds her dog.
Hope this helps.
Tammy

I would really just stick with a decent dry dog food for health reasons for your dog ,unless you want to go with the barf diet for your dog wich is all raw meat and bones with veggies.I've never fed it myself ,I can't bring myself to do it.You need to do some good research on it before you feed it.

Every so often when i'm cooking i'll give my dogs a piece of what i'm making or let them lick a dish. They never get just a steady diet of human food.

There's some great doggy biscuit treats you feed your dog to .

Cooked vegetables, rice or pasta and mix with his meat. he will love the variety. Avoid onions and cabbage for obvious reasons.

look into the BARF diet (Bones And Raw Foods) it is awsome for dogs, my jack russel stays on it (she is a picky eater). it is really healthy, but i do not suggest dog food and the BARF diet, you have to watch your dogs weight. i warn you though, this diet requires daily prep. and fresh meat and veggies everyday.
