It's fiction, just like the bible.

Since I'm so helpful: you can download the lecture "Truth and Fiction in The Da Vinci Code or the Enduring Appeal of Conspiracy Theories" in MP3 format for free here:

I like stories that pull a strange twist on factual history (e.g. The Crucible Trilogy by Sara Douglass, The World of Darkness), but if only Dan Brown hadn't put some Feminist neopagan bullshit into it, then I'd actually be interested. I really can't see what Emperor Constantine had to gain by actively going out of his way to suppress the so-called 'divine feminine' side.

Christianity is MONOtheism, emphasis on MONO, meaning 'one'. Also take note that the Virgin Mary is female, and most Catholics pray to her, so Christianity isn't as malecentric as the boneheaded fems claim.

That whole female supression scenario was clearly drawn from the same victim-complex as spawned the 'Matriarchal Era'. I can't believe Dan Brown fell for that.

Jesus was more likely to be a vampire (a daywalker at that) or the inventor of jellybeans than some venerator of some long forgotten Goddess or, even with all his humility, to marry a prostitute. Do you really think that any self-respecting descendant of any heavenly deity would marry prostitute? Sheesh!

And now, the answer to your question: no.

No the Da Vinci Code is purely a work of fiction. The characters in the novel are fictional. But other elements are true, like the paintings the churches, etc. The characters in his novel try to interpret these elements and tries to arrive at theories. Dan Brown himself mentions that these theories deserve some merit, but it is left to the readers to actually interpret them, in their own terms.

No. Go to wikipedia and type in "Da Vinci Code inaccuracies" or something like that. There's enough info there.

no but Dan brown said its strictly fiction but i find it fascinating. always thought of Jesus as a man with a family and given divine powers at times like moses but just a man .. a good man a prophet and good leader.. son of God.. yes true as we are the children of God but living deity no.. but was used by God to do his work.. his descents still walk the earth.they should not be a threat to the church .personally i would feel better about him if i knew he was a man instead of a living deity .. it would make me feel closer to him and be able to relate easier

For any male to go there hole life without the urge to mate sounds silly to me. Either with a man or woman he had to have done what all nature is based upon and that is reproduction!!!!

It is a load of crap. Christians must stand up against such insults against our religion. If something like this was written about other religions, all hell would have broken loose. But we just take it all in quietly. If there is a injustice we are responsible to stand up against it. Dont let it be Christ died in vain for bunch of spineless people like us. By keeping quiet we are no better than Peter when he denied Jesus and we are almost like Judas who betrayed him. Stand up against the lies written by that souless man called Dan Brown. Have you guys seen his eyes? They lack soul and spirit.
