The largest airplane is the Russian An-225 Cossack with a length of 275 feet 7 inches, a wing span of 290 feet, and maximum takeoff weight of 1,322,770 pounds!!

The world’s largest commercial airliner, is the 555-seat Airbus A380

The fastest Airplane is the American experimental aircraft X-15 with a top speed of mach 6.72

"most powerful" is an attribute that describes aircraft engines, rather than a specific airplane. So the question is a bit vague and you should make it more specific to get a correct answer.

Depends on your definition of power. The U.S. has the most advanced craft. The person speaking of the Israeli Air Force is right that they have some of the best pilots, but the planes are mostly U.S. F-15s, F-16s @ F/A-18s. The F-22 Raptor is the most technologically advanced fighter in use. But the Su-47 has some great flight capabilities thanks to it's awesome thrust vectoring. (Saw the plane almost turn sideways in level flight without changing direction with minimal loss of speed in the maneuver)

This is a complicated question.

Saddam Hussein once told his advisors that he wanted to send all of his fighter aircraft (MiGs) to bomb Israel with sarin gas. All of them said "Allah is great! You will succeed!"

One of them basically called Saddam an idiot and informed him that all of his fighters would be bombed out of the sky before they ever reached Israeli air space.

It's not because of the armaments on the aircraft but the on-board radar. MiG-21's can "see" about 25 miles. Israeli fighters at that time had over-the-horizon radar and could "see" about 125 miles. In addition, the wing-mount weapons on Israeli fighters could lock in on a target at a range of about 60 miles.

In short, Israeli fighters could "see" the MiGs coming in, fire several missiles at each one and return home before the MiG's were even aware that they were sharing the sky with anyone. The only thing the Iraqi jets would ever "see" is inbound heat-sensing missiles.

(Most journalists just don't get this kind of reasoning, either. They say some of the dumbest things and it never occurs to them to get technical assist. The USA and its allies have the best equipment in the world at the moment, and it's hard to estimate how far behind some countries are because they're too far behind to be comparable, and they're not attempting the networking strategies that we use.)

Powerful? well......I would have to say France since they developed The Concord that can fly from Paris to New York in under 3 hrs. Sadly their program was terminated due to an accident a few years back, yet being the only one in history after an stellar career.

While the answer is the US, it is because we have the need for them. MAny of the powerfl jets we use in our military have many components designed throughout the world, Europe in particular. Saab, a European manufacturer, is known for very powerful engines used in many jets the US uses. So, yes, it is the US, with some help from allies throughout the world.

Depends on what you mean by powerful. Fighters, bombers, multi-role, sub hunters, tank killers, electronic surveillance...
Off the cuff, I'd have to say that knowledge is power, so the E-3 AWACS (USA)gets my vote.
