And read very carefully the breed size standard for the German Sheperd. ANYTHING larger than the breed size standard IS NOT a KING anything it is a dog that does not fit the breed size standard and should not have been used as breeding stock.
They are not a different breed, they are not rare or hard to find, they are produced by people who are not knowledgeable enough to breed by a code of ethics. They are sold to people who do not understand the breed standard and think they are getting something special or rare or unusual. When in reality you are spimly buying a large german sheperd.
I have dobermans I had a male who was 30 inches at the shoulder and weighed 100 pounds. He was not a "king Dobie" he was an oversized doberman who would have been lousy at a dog show as he was to llarge and did not fit the breed standards set out by the Doberman Club of America.

Tyke how you live so long anyway..

The King Shepherd Dog is a rare breed which closely resembles a large German Shepherd They can weigh anywhere from 90-150 pounds..beautiful dogs and very smart.They are cross between a German Shepherd, Alaskan Malamute and a Great Pyrenees. My favorite dog is a Shepherd. Even though I raise Shih Tzu's. The reason I don't have Shepherds is because my business is on my property and since Shepherds are very loyal I was afraid they would protect at the wrong time. Just read on these dogs before you get one. They need room they need a big yard. Not to sure on having two together as you were saying. That you will have to check out. Good luck to you.

I agree with Tyke in that having two pups is more difficult than one with training. We recently purchased an 8 week old German shepherd. We already have an 8 year old shepherd and a 1 year old dachshund. The puppy was obsessed with the dachshund and wouldn't listen to us much in the beginning. For our dachshund, the novelty of having a crazy puppy to play with is wearing off as the puppy grows. If you have two puppies, you're going to have the distraction of another puppy constantly. Having an adult dog as the distraction is much different.

As the puppy is maturing, and actually having to separate the two at times, our puppy is responding well now. We knew the pup would be fascinated with the dachshund. We just didn't know how happy and nuts the dachshund would be having a huge puppy around. Train one pup at a time. You'll be glad you did.

I honestly don't know much about "king" shepherds. I personally would stick with the German shepherd. Ours are from German lines (vs American lines). They are incredible dogs. Although one of the best, most intelligent dogs I ever had was a lab mix from a shelter. Just remember that the two breeds you are considering are herding dogs. That in itself is a huge commitment. They have a lot of energy and like to "keep busy."

Good luck whatever you decide.

The King Shepherd is thought to be made up of American line German Shepherd's crossed with Malamute's and then crossed back to German line Shepherds. In my opinion on this breed, they are more straight in the shoulder and rear. Just make sure you find a breeder that screen's their breeding dogs ,like OFA's hips and elbows, ect. Why is it that you are looking into a King vs. GSD?

People who thank me by telling me that I "did a good job." Those who put in a good word for me, or brag on me. That is really the only way that I feel good about myself...I cannot do anything without getting the approval of someone else. And if they say that I didn't do a good job, or I was sloppy, then it makes me really look down on myself. I want to do something over if I think it wasn't "satisfactory" enough. Now, what really makes me feel good, is girls that flirt with me...which seldom every happens, but I do like it. :) Great question!

That's as STUPID a "label"-stuck on by CROOKS-as "teacup" anything is!!!

*REAL* GSD come ONLY *2* ways-quality or CRAP!
"King" =CRAP!

NEVER get 2 pups at once! They only learn ***BAD*** behavior from each other! Always wait at least a YEAR!

BTW....It's SHEPHERD!
