i found a blueu tablet in my daughters purse
i need to know what it is

if its blue its not oxycontin not that i've ever seen....oxycontin are very small, smaller than most that is, round white pills with a number either 5 10 20 or 80 indicating the dosage in miligrams. i'll provide you a clicky to a good page where you can reference oral meds by picture and description

If you want to identify a pill by the way it looks, the best way is to get a hold of a PDR (Physician's Desk Reference) there is a section with photos of many common medications. Also, a pharmacy may be able to identify the pill based on descriptions and the markings on the tablet.

That is likely to be MS Contin. A form of Morphine. You didn't provide enough details to properly identify it, so I'm taking an educated guess. MS Contin pills most commonly prescribed are blue.
