I hope God is taking this seriously, because I sure can't.

Dearest, go to a priest. And say masturbation, for heaven's sake. It's in the same class with adultery and other sexual sins. If you were a Protestant like me I'd tell you to repent and turn to God, He forgives sins. But you're Catholic. The only accountability you need is from your priest, not a fellow believer. Ask him for help. :)

There aint nothing wrong with it coz it's natural...Of course God will forgive you, it's not that big a sin! No, it's not classed as adultery...I don't even see why the priest should know about your sins, I think you can take them to God directly!

I doubt that you are a Catholic, but I have no ways to verify it.
The reason for my doubt is that you don't seek the answer from your elders, the priest or from the Bible.
The Bible does not write down each of all man's sins and the consequential punishment. It teaches man how to conduct a decent life in myriads of aspects. And a true follower today can read the Bible and find out the lessons for himself.

If you didn't know it was a sin when you did it, then you had no intention of committing a sin, so how can you be punished?

If you now believe it is a sin, then you will be held accountable for your knowledge from the time you learned it. If you feel a need to be forgiven, ask forgiveness of God directly, and commit yourself to never doing it again.

First if you read your bible for yourself, you will see all sin is equal with exception of blaspheming the holy spirit. Second you would see that you are to call no man father but the holy father in heaven. Third you would see that God forgives all sin through his son Jesus' name.

I will assume you are serious in your concern.

Christians have different views on the subject - everything from "don't worry about it" to "you are in deep trouble".

It is good to recognize first that you can go directly to God and confess your sins. God forgives sin as we turn to Him, as we repent, as we confess, as we submit ourselves to Him. You might feel a need to confess to your priest but only God can truly forgive you.

Masturbation is not mentioned in the bible as sin specifically but certainly lust is and masturbation almost always arouses lustful images. Lust is sinful.

Many many Christian men struggle with masturbation and it is good to realize that.

It is also good to realize that God does not want us to focus on our sins but rather on Himself. After you confess to God, with God's help, don't condemn yourself or whip yourself over it. Just say, "God, here I am. I want to please You. I want to walk uprightly before you."

God understands your weakness and understands your heart.

god bless

Do you think adultery sounds better than masturbation when confessing to the priest?

It's not a sin Keep spanking it, it's good for you.

Give me a break. Confess it, repent for it and move on! Don't worry about what the priest thinks either, he's undoubtedly guilty of the same thing you are.

And yes, God is going to forgive you.............unless you were blaspheming while you masturbated, then it's curtains for you, buddy!

Any truely loving God will encourage you for doing something so natural. There is no reason to be ashamed about who you are-and what you like. If you feel bounded in your religion- then there may be something wrong with the religion - or God itself. Real love encourages you to be who you are (without feeling ashamed).
