Well, in that you failed, Ashley.
For those she who claimed Atheism is logicaly safe, by what means?
If Atheists are right and you are wrong, you are not punished.
If you are right, Atheists pay the price of their eternal soul.
You risk nothing and they risk everything.
How is that safety and how is that anything but the most rebust of faith?
Also, for the guy complaining about name calling, I'm not even an Atheist and I've been called names by Christians on Y!Q&A. There is no faith that is innocent of having fools amongst them.
Yet, everyone seems to want to believer that the follows of their brand of ideals are somehow different.
We are all the same. Human. Failable. Ultimately flawed.
Most faiths are pretty clear on this point.

Okay, I'm a christian. I don't question why aetheists feel there is no God. I don't question why Muslims or Buddists,or for that matter, Protestants or Catholics believe the way they do (and there is plenty of division among christian believers). I live my life, I make my choices and I don't hold other people responsible for what I do. I believe there are other gods, because the first commandment is "Thou shalt have no other gods before me......"
Obviously those gods could be anything from Zues to money. There will always be differing beliefs among people.

I have no trouble at all understanding why atheists do not believe. Who have you been talking to?
I must have been raised in a cave or something. I have been around devout Christians my whole life, and I don't think I have ever heard any of them even mention atheism, let alone care whether or not atheists believe in God. And this is coming from the Bible Belt - my grandfather was a preacher, two of my uncles are preachers, my wife's father was a preacher, and one of her uncles was a preacher. Strange, its almost like they don't care what atheists believe. But I'm sure that they would care if an atheist called them stupid, Christiantards, illogical, uneducated, etc. (all terms I have seen atheists use on Yahoo R&S).

You know, I don't have a hard time accepting what you believe because I believed the same thing many years ago myself.
Logically, it's easier to believe that there is no God. It makes sense and it's very safe.
When God enters the picture, all of the sudden things get unsure and spooky because everything doesn't make sense on paper anymore.
I'm glad I believe now because I think I've been enlightened; however, I completely understand where your at too.

The Bible unquestionably clears all of that up. Jesus Christ himself reported that loss of life is like sleep. (John 11:11-14) dozing human beings are no longer doing something. they are in simple terms asleep in a state of state of no interest. in addition to, Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10 says, "For the residing are huge unsleeping that they'll die; yet as for the lifeless, they are huge unsleeping of no longer something in any respect, neither do they anymore have wages, with the aid of fact the remembrance of them has been forgotten. All that your hand unearths to do, do with your very power, for there's no artwork nor devising nor understanding nor understanding in Sheol, the region to which you're going." This backs up what Jesus reported by employing asserting that a lifeless individual isn't everywhere and does not do something. he's in simple terms lifeless. In different words, loss of life is the different of existence. in case you have ever long previous under finished anesthesia the place you're in simple terms sleep with none objectives, that's what loss of life is like. as quickly as I went under, i did no longer bear in concepts something yet counting backwards before I went under and waking up. i did no longer additionally be attentive to that 4 hours had handed. The Bible for sure teaches that there's no afterlife. even nonetheless, in simple terms like i replaced into awoke from the anesthesia, the lifeless additionally could have an threat to be awoke to stay consistently on the earth after this is became right into a paradise. in certainty, Jesus Christ reported, "The hour is coming, and this is now, whilst the lifeless will hear the voice of the Son of God and people who've given heed will stay. do no longer ask your self at this, with the aid of fact the hour is coming wherein all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out." (John 5:25, 28, 29; evaluate Psalms 37:9-11, 29; Acts 24:15) So, you spot, loss of life isn't what many human beings say this is, and there is no afterlife.

It is not a question of understanding why you do not believe, more a question of just because you do not believe do you have to belittle my belief? If I believed in Zeus or the FSM would you treat me any different? Why do you care what I believe and why does it have to affect whether or not we can talk to each other like sane, rational human beings?

There is no problem understanding this. Some people would not accept or face the Truth if their life depended on it. (and it does) They can believe or not believe all they want to, it doesn't affect me in the least. In my opinion, based on Gods Word, they are given over to a reprobate mind and are blinded to the truth. I force my belief on no one, and if they choose not to believe, more power to them, go for it. I feel for them, but I CANNOT save them, because I am not Christ. It is nothing to really understand at all. It all comes down to when we stand in front of Christ on Judgment Day and give an account of why or why not we accepted or rejected Him, and what He has done for us.

Because our God spoke the truth. Thousands of years before men knew this, God said in His Book, the Bible, that the Earth is round, and many others. Our God spoke the truth, and we believe all other "gods" are demons. That's why we don't believe them to be "God."
You, on the other hand, refuse God altogether, and don't accept Jesus' sacrifice... Hope you're right... If you are wrong, there is a hell... :(
Maybe you are right... Good for you then! Just that...

What bugs me about Atheists is they're two faced. They're ALL diests, except for the criminals who are true Atheists.
Bush is the their god.
The mayor is their god.
The IRS is their god.
The policeman is their god.
AND THEY FEAR GOD, just like any Christians does.
That's why they behave themselves. THEY FEAR their dieties.
A criminal doesn't. They live life on their own terms, all others be damned!
Now that's a NON-BELIEVER. They believe in NOTHING except themselves.
They bow to no one.
Atheists BOW and PRAY all the time.
They kiss the ground.
Just watch them when the COP stops them and pulls out his ticket book. You watch them bow, scrape, pray and hope to get off with just a warning.
A bunch of phoneis who criticise the religious for bowing and praising.
Now the true atheist, pulls out a gun, kills the cop and goes on his way, for there is NO SKY DADDY that's going to put him in hell.
The true atheist knows we're a COSMIC ACCIDENT. A product of SERENDIPITY and we have no great COSMIC PURPOSE to be here. There is no GREAT design. No one DESIGNED US. We are an accident.
So who the hell is this cop and why is he stopping me! He don't mean nothing. His rules don't mean nothing. Not on the COSMIC 14 billion light year miles scale of things.
Now, when you CHOSE to be reverant, you're picking your Gods. You're making the cop Jesus. And you're justifying eating the apple in the hopes he'll just give you a sermon and let you go. Pennace without pain or cost.
Now, when the Cop finds half a pound of pot in your glove box, then the Atheist is marched off to Folsom, Attica, San Quention, Chino and lives a life in hell for 3 years.
And what was the CRIME that got them there! Doing 72 in a 65 zone. Had they "obyed" God's rules the Cop would have never stopped them and never found the half pound of Pot.
See, Atheists know there is a hell.

I understand why you don't believe. Do you understand that watching someone contemplating suicide and not saying something seems wrong? That is all that is going on...Ones that are pushy or rude are out of line. I am glad someone persisted with me. It was only because they were honest enough to say I don't know sometimes and respectful enough to just be there and only answer my questions without harping all the time that I respected them.
