You can give any food to the patient, if he is able to take. He will not be able to take due to side effects of chemotherapy and radiation. They will have acute symptoms of nausea and diarrhea. At any rate do not give outside food and all should be home made only as the patient will be esily getting infected.
For collateral (Colon) cancer patient doctors generlly advise the following food - Alternative and Complementary Therapies
Alternative therapies have not been studied in a large-scale, scientific way. Large doses of vitamins, fiber, and green tea are among therapies tried. Avoiding cigarettes and alcohol may be helpful. Before initiating any alternative therapies, the patient is wise to consult his or her physician to be sure that these therapies do not complicate or interfere with the established therapy. This is apart from the medicines if any given by the oncologist.
Your case appears to be very serious and you can not take any chance at this stage since CANCER IS STILL AN ENIGMA and we have to treat it compleately. -Best of luck-

Your best adviser is your oncologist. Keep in mind that some type of cancer is more aggressive than other types of cancers. Your liver has a key function on your digestive system, so ask your oncologist to be on the safe side. You wouldn't to to a urologist for an ingrown nail, right?

"Let thy food be thy medicine, and thy medicine be thy food." -Hippocrates: The Greek philosopher, father of modern scientific healing, and originator of the Hippocratic Oath taken by all MDs.
Scour the produce isles, whole grain bins, herbal teas, and whatever other single, prefferably whole and fresh, foods available, for what looks, smells and tastes best to the patient each day. This is the most desired of compounds for the body as decreed by the natural sense of discernment. To eat contrary to this is to ensure disequilibrium of nutrients. One should never eat only from habitual assumption if vitality and well being are desired. Strive for alkalinity which is contrary to the enviroment of acidity which cancer manifests most virally. Liquify, juice, or brew broths of food (including grains) if solids can't be taken.
I would also consider getting "How to be an Exceptional Patient" by Dr. Bernie Siegel for use by the patient, and all family and friends involved. http://www.berniesiegelmd.com/audio.htm
Also, if they can bear it, I recommend the "Tablet of Medicine" by Baha'u'llah http://bahai-library.com/index.php5?file=bahaullah_lawh_tibb_anonymous
(notes on the Tablet http://bahai-library.com/index.php5?file=wilmette_lawh_tibb_notes)
May only what is truly loved be remembered of all things... Allah'u'Abha - God is All-Glorious

Walnuts on a fresh salad with some extra virgin olive oil.
