i love my best friend to death. we are very close but i am a woman and he is a man. I think he is in love with me. i don't like him in that manner and i never will. he just isn't my "type". i love him dearly but sometimes he creeps me out when he tries to rub my shoulders or feet or kisses me on the hand. he would never do something to me that i didn't want him to but he acts like a boyfriend sometimes and it gets annoying. he knows we are just friends but he needs to back off sometimes. i tell him "don't touch me." and he gets his feelings hurt. how can i telll him tactfully that i am single and want someone but not him and i don't like his romantic overtones. we are just friends and not more. i don;t want to hurt his feelings because he is a great person with a big heart but i am not attracted to him at all.

When you tell him, "Don't touch me" -- you have to not care that his feelings are hurt. You need to make it VERY CLEAR. You are risking the loss of his friendship, but, frankly, that would be more fair to him than to string him along that maybe something will happen.

Am really sorry for your best friend..if he is in love with you....

well nothing will happen if you donot want it to happen and if you are not attracted to him...

Donot try to tell him anything.. he probably already knows that u r not attracted to him...after all he is ur best friend...try to get him hooked up with some female friends of yours ...donot encourage him to fall for you and let him presume anything... you too go out with someone you are attracted to...or talk about guys with him.... he will definately know that he is not your type...
