I used to tell my sister that something she did was Stupid. She couldn't understand the difference. She thought I was calling her Stupid and she'd go cry to mom. I'd simply explain that I was saying what she DID was stupid.
No harm done there.
Maybe you could switch and say that what he did was Foolish, and give him a better way of doing things so he can act less Foolish.
You're 10 years older. You have a different viewpoint and a different knowledge. Calling him a fool might be a bit harsh.
If he continually does foolish stuff, maybe he is a fool. Then again, he's only 10. Hopefully, he'll grow out of it.

Sometimes word is related to wish. If you call him fool, it's also heard as you wish your brother to becomes foolish person in the future. May be because of that your mother hated it.
But according to your age is 20, you should be adult enough to choose the better word for calling your youngest brother.
Every boys are naughty in their ways, but if they are gone everybody will miss them. Who knows when they become adult they will protect and help the sisters.

My lil brother is the same. regrettably, he's 16 by now and that i`m 18. He doesn`t say those issues to each person except for myself, yet not so many times. He receives indignant way too quick on the stupid issues and every time this is something extreme, he's all calm. I question his good judgment on that, yet he has no answer for it. i imagine he's with some inner-demons, yet I nevertheless desire time to attempt to assist him with that. If he were gay, i wager it would want to describe why he acts that annoyed, yet i'm myself and that i attempt to maintain peace in myself. all of us calls me extraordinary inspite of the indisputable fact that, because I`m not social. i imagine this is extra about how spoiled he's. Electronics were shown to make human beings depressed and with it, inflammation etc. Its the uncomfortable aspect consequences of being too some distance from nature. you spot, tell your mom to study something noted as the Schumann Resonance. You your self received`t ought to study it till you've your own youngsters, yet for your mom, it truly is significant.

He may just take it as a normal way of expression. Kids usually will start imitating the expressions exposed to them by their close ones cause they see that there's nothing wrong in saying those things. They usually look up to the older sibling as a role model; be it good or bad.

As long as you don't mean it and as long as he knows you don't mean it then it's probably OK. If it's said in jest and you aren't being mean or malicious then it's just a funny way that you two communicate. However, if your Mother gets upset about it you should cool it in front of her. You don't need to irritate her no matter how innocent it is between you and your younger brother.

My first response was yes but it's not the worst thing in the world. He knows you love him and I'm sure he looks up to you. How about another nickname?
