Yes, it is possible and, if heartburn occurs while taking the medication, the doctor should be notified. It could be a symptom of another problem. Please contact your doctor and let him know. If it turns out that there is not a new medical condition, you will probably be given a different medication for your acid reflux.

Yes it will cause an attack of reflux if you take the drug on an empty stomach. It is still working to heal the reflux, but it should be taken with a small amount of food.
