Too many people have the wrong idea of what it means to serve Christ.
Jesus came to save the world not to condemn it. I have noticed way to many of us passing judgment on others. Expecially with homosexuals and non believers. I do not permit nor condon such acts yet I love them all the same and would help any I could. According to the bible all sins are equal in the eyes of God save one, Blasphemy.
Did you forget the Second commandment of God? "Love thy neighbor as thy self." We should try to help those in sin not condemn them and persicute them
Please my friends remember this scripture
"For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved" John 3:17
May our lord God be with you

I do not dispute the word of God Cristina and I am telling no one they are not sins. But should we not as Christians try to help them understand the Love of God and the fact that If they come to him all will be forgivin for there past sins? I do not mean hang out with them constantly or become there best friend I only mean we are not to forsake them. They are children of God as are we and as such can be forgiven!
I say show them the light of God not the door.

I've been saying the same thing ever since I've been on answers. Hopefully, if enough of us keep posting, we will get some of our brothers and sisters to stop being so judgmental and live the way Christ taught us.

What if the Muslims are right, and the Qur'an is the best description of the real God, and he calls Himself Allah? What if the Buddhists are right and the there is no one, divine or otherwise, who created the universe? Everything that exists arises from a myriad of interdependent conditions without beginning or end. The closest the Buddhists have to grasping at god with our limited minds is to think of the void. What if the Jehovah's Witnesses are correct, and their booklets are actually the closest you can get to God's will? What if God is so utterly beyond human comprehension that any description in words is a pathetic joke? What if the universe itself is far more marvellous than we ever dreamed, and it is capable all on its own of God-like actions such as creating life?
You can call God, "The Real God", addressing by title rather than by name. You can't then be accused of worshipping the wrong God. The real God, (or the creator God) is defined here as the creator of the universe. We might just as easily have defined the real God as the sustainer of the universe, or the destroyer of the universe. For the more pragmatic, we could have defined the real God as that which answers prayer. These alternate definitions may or may not refer to the same entity or principles.

And Love your Enemy the Most.
Jesus, however, didn't say anything about having to LIKE them nor LIKE what they do. Passing judgement, again, true, only God passes judgement.
But a lot of people follow the "prophets" of the Bible instead of "the one and only."
Paul tells us we're not even supposed to keep the company of a fornicator. We're not supposed to share a table at a restaraunt with them.
This implies we are to treat them like Lepers.
Paul is also big on not having anything to do with homosexuals -- men who lay with men like they are supposed to lay with women.
Remember, Protestantism is about self-interpretation of the Bible.
The unfortunate aspect of this is that Evangelism can play into the hands of bigotry. All you need to do is preach the "good book" as it applies to Blacks or Homosexuals or Fornicators.
You'll get a gang of like minded people following you.
It can also be as innocuous as a word or concept. "Rapture" is a word not found in the KJV. Some say the Greek words can be defined as it, but no one did until Margaret MacDonald who was 15 years old and then some new age minister turned it into a whole new religious concept.
I doubt Maggie read Greek fluently. She just coined a phrase and then some Billy Graham came along and fired up the flock with that word and it became a Buzz Word. One not found in any standard Bible.

I appreciate your sincere intent, but you still say some offensive and judgmental things in your post, calling nonbelievers and homosexuals sinners. I am a nonbeliever, and I think I am more "Christian" than most Christians I know. And a gay friend of mine is more kind, more sincere, more loving and nonjudgmental than most Christians I know.
I have become so turned off to organized religion, especially in the current climate of the Bush administration, which has opened the door to hatred and mean-spiritedness. It is rife in this country. I am so sick of the self-righteousness of "Christians," and the way they use the Bible as a tool for their hatred. I am so sick of the fact that they think they hold license and title to morality and that they believe that non-Christians cannot possibly be moral. As a non-Christian/nonbeliever, I think I am more moral than most Christians I know.
I know there are people out there who are actually good Christians (in the true sense of the word), and I respect them. But I do not respect those who are petty and mean-spirited and use the Bible and the title "Christian" as a means to spew their hatred and narrow-mindedness.
Religion is the root of most evil in this world.

At the same time:
2Cr 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
and:
Gal 6:1 ¶ Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
Gal 6:2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

It is a lovely saying, however, I doubt whether Jesus ever said it. John probably said it and wrote it down. Remember, John (whoever he was) wrote over a hundred years after Jesus died. How would he know what Jesus had said. Hearsay? In fact, how would any of the writers of the Gospels know what Jesus said? None were there at the time of Jesus's death. None knew him. None even saw him. Jesus never a single note to anyone. There is no written documentation that Jesus said these things.
All hearsay and hearsay is totally unreliable.

Thank you. You are one of those rare people who fully understands the teachings of your christ. Even though I am an atheist, it is good to meet someone such as yourself. It shows that religion itself isn't bad, it just gets twisted by those who would use it as an excuse for hatred.
