I don't live in America and it is difficult to find sour cream. When I do get it, I often don't use it all that quickly. I thought dairy products could not be frozen, but a friend of mine used to freeze milk and it was fine after thawing it out and using it again. Can I do the same with sour cream?

Freeze it if you need to. After thawing stir it until it is the right consistency.. or dump off the liquid and have cream cheese!

No don't freeze sour cream. I thought i could, so i stuck some in the freezer, and it just changed it, it had a weird texture, and it tasted like crap!

How the heck does your friend freeze milk? Milk would curdle if it was frozen. Did he add anything to it?
