It's alright. You CAN breed a father & daughter or a mother and son. You CANNOT breed siblings---this will cause birth defects in the puppies.

"The father wants to breed with the daughter"??? You are letting the dogs make the choice!?!?!

No, you should not do this inbreeding since you have no clue about it. To do an inbreeding successfully, you need a thorough knowledge of the prospective parents, their parents and grandparents. Do you have that? Do you know each and every fault, including and especially bad temperaments, in these dogs? If not, you don't do the breeding because in any inbreeding all the faults, recessive and otherwise, will come out in the litter. Very, very irresponsible to do an inbreeding without knowing what you're doing - especially in a breed with huge temperament problems already! Get them spayed and neutered!

Inbreeding is not a nice word and is really a two way thing. Inbreeding is never really a good thing but dispite what alot of people think inbreeding can go very smoothly with dogs. Extereme inbreeding is where the problems lay, thats when you can start to expect deformations, low mortality and a whole bunch of other mess. But this one time...though by human standards its god awful, probably wouldn't affect the pups. Its just up to you to make sure this 'family loving' doesn't contiune.
As far as the good sides a certain amount of inbreeding can improve a breed. So yeah, I would go for it, just heed the idea in the future.

Inbreeding always increases birth defects and generally produces dogs substandard for their breed. This includes more aggression and less intelligence. This is a bad combination for a Chow. I am not a dog breeder or anything but please at least run this idea by a vet before you do it. I would not trust the word of a breeder I did not know either. Sometimes breeders are more interested in how to profit from dogs than how to properly care for them. I am not putting breeders down but their are a few bad apples in every lot, ya know.

Incest and inbreeding. Maybe some over or undershot jaws, epilepsy or behavior or eye problems. Maybe you could inbred them through their generations until there hairless? Wow!

Chows were already so inbred at one point that aggresive chows resulted. Please do not inbreed your dogs. Spay and neuter! there are already enough homeless on death row chows that are beautiful too!!

I tell you what the problem would be. I bought one that was inter bred. Cost me almost 3,000 dollors. His eye socket did not devolop enough to hold his eye in place. bone from his hip was placed there. Then he had to have one of his kidneys removed his nuts were up inside him had to have that fixed. after 3 years we ended up having him put down. Don't do it please.

Well since you are obviously a BYB
your puppies will probably be born with genetic problems...if not dead. Some may never walk...ect
