This is part of the healing process, tattoos will shed around 3-7 days after a tattoo is applied. Use tattoo goo for the first couple of days untill shedding begins then switch to a fragrance and colour free aloe ver/ vitamin e moisturiser.
If after 7 days or so the tatt hasn't healed you can bet the artist has drilled the skin and scarred it up, or you have an infection. usualy with infections the area will weep clear yellowy goop.
As for the lines, sounds like you got ripped off. If nothing heals up proplerly, go back to the shop speak with the owner, and let them know your not happy, but DO NOT get them to fix it. You are asking for drama.
If the area isn't healing and you think you have in infection, see your doctor.
Best wishes!!!

It's doing exactly what it's supposed to do. There will be some color loss in the beginning and it will look funny for a while. Don't freak out. It's gonna be fine. I know it looks bad now and that lots of color is coming out but, it really isn't as much as you think. Once you started the peeling, stop the use of ointments and use a fragrance free white lotion ( try Aveeno) anytime the tatt feels dry. It needs to stay moisturized untill the cracking and peeling is done. If you have a signifigant color loss, go back for a touch up. Mine did the same thing. They are perfect now.

If your tattoo is new it might be because of the healing process. Your skin is going to sorta 'pucker' up a bit like it would if you had cut yourself. Neosporin should NOT be used. I was told that if you used it the colors would come out faster because basically the neosporin it going to try to get rid of the ink like it was a bacteria since it is designed to make sure you don't scar and to keep the germs out. Also your new tattoo will ooze out some of the ink anyway.

It's normal for your tattoo to start flaking or peeling during the healing process but I'm responding because I was once told to NEVER put neosporin on your tattoo. A lady told me she got a red rose tattooed but she put neosporin on it and it turned the rose pink. Tattoo's are scars and neosporin and designed to help heal scars. You don't want to heal the scar, you just want to heal the dryness and peeling. Putting neosporin on your tattoo might effect it's appearance and it may cause discoloration to your tattoo. My advice is to stop using neosporin and stick with unscented lotion. If you are still unsure about your tattoo, visit the same or nearest tattoo parlor and ask for a second opinion.

I'm thinking that its your fault, first of all never use Neosporin, it will push the color out and lotion isn't good until its been about a week. Just put some bacitracian or A&D ointment on and go from there. Whatever you do don't pick it at all.

I was told putting neosporin on your tattoo will drain the color out of it, lotion will not keep it hudrated enough.
I have always used A&E ointment and have had success in keeping mt tattoos looking healthy.
Ask your tattooest about the ointment.

hi, I recently got a tattoo on my foot and it went cloudy and flaky cause it wasn't able to breathe properly under shoes. It's been 6 weeks now and it's turned out fine.
