All religions have one thing in common. There is a higher power that controls makind. Each religion comes at it from a different way, but the goal is the same. It is to be in the hands of the Main Controller...who in this case is GOD. In fact, a practical person would thrown away all religions and stay with only one. THE BELIEVE IN GOD without the churches asd Mosques and tithes, a building programs, a new buildings for the brothers, and new candles for the alter. And so on. Only the 100% love of God. religions would be dropped and the only religion would be the LOVE OF GOD!!!!!

A little while ago I asked on this site whether anybody reads Ken Wilber. I got no replies and that's a shame because this wise man writes so much which would answer many of the questions on Y!A
If you read, say, 'One Taste' or, a more challenging read, 'Eye of the Spirit' you will find a serious discussion of the question.
Or you could try putting The Perennial Philosophy in your search engine.
Or, if you would be satisfied with a couple of sentences from me, then:
At the mystical heart of all religions, more or less hidden, but always there, is the knowledge that the very ground of our being is God. Not our little, personal egos - that would be insane - but our deepest nature is not separate from God.
From the Hindu, 'Thou art That'. to the words of Master Eckhart, 'The eye with which I see God is the same eye as that with which God sees me', that same realisation is at the root of them all. ALL.
Of course this is anathema to fundamentalists, but if you look carefuuly at the mystical heights of all religions you will find just this.
But it's much better to read Ken Wilber than to base too much on what I say in these few words.
I suppose that what unites them is the people who have this realisation. That and the preaching of love and compassion.

The one thing that unites everybody regardless of religion or not is Love.
People the world over crave Love, not hate.
Most of the people who condemn religion do so because they have never experienced Love from so called religious people, we are all to busy fighting over doctrine rather than helping those who need our help.
I might not agree with other religions on what to believe accept Loving and caring for each other, and that's all that matters.
So forget our differences and look for the Love within ourselves to reach out to others.

The love and knowledge of the One True God are the most powerful unifying force.
The varieties of religions in the past were due to the separation among men by various forms of barriers.
Now, with all the Holy Books available on the Internet, the mature humanity can study them and consciously know the love of the One True God for One Humanity, they will easily come to each other as members one global family.
There are today believers of the religion believing in One God and One Mankind, who live in love and peace will all people on earth.

All religions ultimately believe in Monothiesm
All major religions that believe in the existence of God ultimately, on a higher level, believe in one supreme god. All religious scriptures actually speak about monotheism i.e. belief in only one true God.
People change scriptures for their benefit:
By the passage of time most of the religious scriptures have been distorted and changed by people for their own benefits. The creed of many religions has thus been distorted from monotheism to pantheism or polytheism. The Holy Qur’an says:
“Then woe to those who wirte the Book with their own hands, And then say: “This is from Allah,” to traffic with it for a miserable price! Woe to them for what their hands do write, and for the gain They make thereby.”
(holy Quran 2:79)

What they all have in common is a recognition that there is a higher power.
OK, some religions have LOADS of higher powers, but the point remains that there is a recognition of higher power.
I think too, that all religions lay down some form of "code of acceptable conduct" for adherents.

Faith.
That's something they all share in common, even though it's different from religion to religion. But faith, without an adjective to modify it, is a common thread.

Everybody wants to go to heaven but nobody wants to die.Thats the ultimate goal for all religions, so why they all go about killing each other is beyond me. I am a Buddhist myself but i have respect for all other religions.
