If no waves arise, water will settle of itself.
If no shadows cross it, the mirror will naturally be bright.
Thus, the heart cannot be made pure, for if one but avoids muddying elements, purity will appear on its own.
Thus, joy should not necessarily be sought after, for if one but avoids those things that cause suffering,
Joy will exist on its own.

You can only tap into truth by extracting esoteric (and exoteric) meanings of religious, philisophical and scientific texts. Truth is hard to accept and there is always one loser who will have to question/rebel/ruin the good of order. Sometimes I think that conformity is the best way to achieve peace; but how could you attain peace in a land of oppression where independent thinking is confined? It's all in perspective. Peace.

Who"s Truth??? This is a loaded question!!! Who Really knows the Truth, By who's standard? We are the cause of our own suffering .Yes...by our deluded minds..People are looking for a savior, when the fruit of happiness and enlightenment are clearly within us, if we'll just follow our nature. Forgive yourself and learn from yourself to truly have compassion for others.. Respect all life, and you will find the end of suffering....and yes, joy.

That is the truth for you..... and so it is.....
But, I tend to disagree.....
If no waves arise, there is tumoil underneath... there need not be a tsunami to know there is a problem.....
Mirrors reflect what is before it..... Perhaps the shadow exists within the reflection..... Much like one need not spill a drop of drink to have it poured within their mouth.....
Suffering can be avoided, but sometimes, it finds you.....while you have your head turned in the direction of happiness.....
Being educated in the ways.... will teach what one needs to know about being "blind".......

Ginger

Very true. Like iron sharpens iron, so does one man sharpen another.
I seek truth constantly. I've changed my mind on some of my foundational truths before and I'll do it again, if need be.

well seeking the truth is all fine and dandy, but if you're best friend asks you if her very expensive new dress makes her bottom look too big, what you gonna say?
