You absolutely cannot put a baby to sleep. They aren't animals you know. Just because they are mentally retarded that doesn't mean they don't deserve to live! If you can't take care of your child at least give it up for adoption. A child needs love no matter what shape it's in!

Best for whom? Yourself? If you are so incredibly selfish to the point that you would consider murdering an innocent child that you yourself created, simply because it is imperfect, you don't deserve to have children, period. Most chldren who have mental disabilities do not suffer because they do not realize they are different until ignorant people wit beliefs such as yours point it out to them. As I mentioned in my answer to your similar question, my son is autistic, and he doesn't suffer. He has no idea that any thing is wrong with him. Life with my son isn't easy, but it is worth the challenges. Being his mother has been the greatest, and most precious gift I have ever recieved. Just because you choose to be a parent, that doesn't mean you get to pick your children. Parenthood is about hard work, sacrifice, selflessness,and most importantly total acceptence and love without fault. As much as I don't like to make snap judgements about people I don't know, I think you would be a horrible mother. Please don't have children for the sake of any potential child you may consider having. Not until you grow up and at least realize that parenthood is never about you, it is about the child. Congratulations, you have personally offended not only me, but all mothers who have chldren with special needs not just once, but twice, with your crass and ridiculous notion that disabled children are less worthy of life than all the "normal" children. I am horrified and disgusted.

There is no law that approves of murder. If this ever happens to you, do the child a favor and give it up for adoption!
Just because a person is retarded does not mean that they can't be happy or that they don't deserve to live.

No you can put your baby to sleep. Who made you God to decide who lives and dies? Maybe that child has a purpose for being here. Maybe to make lives of those around him better. I suggest that you dont have children until you are ready to commit to that child 100% not matter how they are. There is no such thing as a "perfect" child.

by using the term 'put our baby to sleep' I am presuming you mean kill r murder an infant after its birth.... you mean you would take your newly born child and kill it... because it has an intellectual disability...
until you have had a child with an intellectual disability you will never know what the heck you are asking here....

Humph! That's absoulutely NOT allowed. How can you even bear to kill an innocent child? Just because he/she has been born with retardy, doesn't mean you can take it's life away at your whims and fancies. I bet if you were the child itself, you sure wouldn't want that to happen to you too right?

i dont think so... there is a law that says that if it is detected during ur pregnancy that ur baby is going to have mental problems then u can have an abortion. but not after it is born.. thats just cruel

Absolutely not.
If that's the case and you do not feel you can adequately love or care for the child then you need to talk to your doctor and HHS to make arrangements for specialized care or adoption.

whoa. why have a baby if you're gonna kill it because it's not to your liking? if there is a law that gives you the right to do that, whoever passed it should go to hell. why don't you give it up for adoption? that's way more human.
