There are a ton of other factors when considering purposing other than the length of time you have been dating! I believe that a happy marriage only takes a few months of dating once you are sure you will be happy for the rest of your life.
Here are some things to consider:
-How much time do you spend together now? if you aren't together almost daily and sometimes overnight, you may not know your girlfriends habbits that you will find out once you live together.
-Why are you thinking about purposing? does she bug you about it, or your friends/family? is it something you feel like you have to do or is it from your heart?
-have you talked about marriage seriously with her? if it's a total suprise to her and she hasn't even mentioned getting married, maybe she doesn't want to.
-how long will you be engaged? maybe it is a good idea to let her know you are very, very serious about marrying her and then letting the engagement period be a long one for you to make sure and just spend a little more time with her.

I got married just after few months of dating my man and now 4 years later we're still madly in love and having a good time ;)
I knew for my self its the best choice and now looking back I think damn I was right because I listened to my heart not to what others say...

If you feel you love her and she loves you enough to make that big commitment then sure get married. But maybe you two should sit down and talk about what you really want out of life first before you decide to be a "team"

Wait, no guy has ever lasted over a year with me, except one. The one I am engaged to now. It was a sign, atleast wait until after the year mark. Many have gotten really close, but we broke up before year and it wasn't meant to be. After a year, you see their true colors.
