It sounds like you're not opposed to the idea, but that you are very unsure about it.
If you are secure in yourself and your relationship, and you are doing it because the idea of your spouse having a great time is as great a turn-on as you having a great time, than you won't have any problems.
If you are the jealous-type or you are simply doing it so that you can get some "strange", than you are doing it for the wrong reasons.
Swinging won't fix a bad relationship, but it sure won't hurt a good one.
Those that tell you it will or has have either never experienced it and are simply speaking from fears and biases, or got into it for the wrong reasons (see above) and therefor it turned-out terribly. Those that are successful at swinging don't have issues. Those that do it for the wrong reasons (i.e. to fix or spice-up a relationship or to simply get some strange) have big problems.

Do NOT seek advice about swinging on Yahoo Answers! Go to the source and talk to people who have actual experience with these things. Go to the message board in the link below and post your dilemma in detail. The folks there know their stuff and like to help. And by "help", I do NOT mean that they are going to coerce you into shedding your pants. They want to prevent swinging disasters (which yours likely will be if you go into it uneducated) because it keeps the swinging pool "unpolluted" with people who have no business being in it. When someone comes along and p*sses in the pool, that's what gets splashed all over the headlines. Nothing good...just the bad drama. Do yourself a favour and check it out.
