If I ask are we saved by faith or works I get half saying faith alone, some saying both and some saying works. Christians can't agree amongst themselves on this fundemental question and other questions like it.
The koran is no better, how come some interpret it as meaning blow up all believers and kill the infidel and others say its a religion of peace?

The Koran is obviously not from God. It came from Muhammed or a deceiving spirit with no other authority or continuity.
Because of this, Muslims try to pretend Muhammed is in a line of prophets from the Bible, even saying that Christ is a prophet but then refuse to accept what the Bible teaches, claiming it has been corrupted, and refuse to accept anything that Christ taught or did.
What absurd dishonesty.
It is a confused and confusing writing. It appeals to the self righteous and to the proud. It's purpose is to confuse.
By contrast, The Bible humbles us and shows both continuity and authority.
Though God "made" the Bible, being His inspired word, yet it is not confusing to the meek :
The meek will he guide in judgement and the meek will he teach his way, Psalm 25/9
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek... Isaiah 61/1
It is true that the unlearned and unstable can wrest the Scriptures to their own destruction, 2 Peter 3/16, and that it may be hid from the wise and prudent, Luke10/21, but it is simple and straightforward enough to be revealed to babes. The problem is not God in itself as God is your belief of a higher force that determines our lives. What God becomes and how God is interpreted is a manmade thing and that is where the problems start. Man can never agree on even the 'simplest' of things and the more centuries an argument goes on for the more complicated it gets and the harder it gets to actually have the courage to end a seemingly endless cycle of violence. It must be difficult knowing generations of your ancestors have been systematically persecuted and murdered in the name of a certain faith to actually stop and realise it is in yor control to stop this madness.
Therefore the Holy Scriptures be they Muslim, Islaamic, Chrisitian, Jewish or whatever will always be the word of man however holy pious and honest the author or interpreter might believe themselves to be. God as a higher force leaves our interpretation and freewill to us. That is the greatest and most dangerous gift of all.

The Bible is the word of God written by man and inspired by the Holy Spirit. There have been changes in the Bible, mostly to satisfy the thought of the day! Luther changed 'saved by faith and good works to- faith alone. Scripture has been safeguarded by the Catholic Church down the centuries in spite of attempts to change. It has to be read in a spiritual, metaphorical and literal sense. Bible classes are very good. Of course it all depends on who is giving the readings.

God did not write the Bible or the Koran--man did. One can choose to believe that the men who contributed to these holy books were devinely inspired, or one can choose to believe they were full of crap. Regardless who or what inspired the authors, the Bible and the Koran are still books, and like all written works, they are open to interpretation.
Let us use an example: Gulliver's Travels. In this book, Gulliver is acquainted with a man named Master Bates. Some argue that the author was purposefully referring to masturbation, whereas others insist that Master Bates was merely the name of a character.
Who is correct? We can't dig up Jonathan Swift and ask him, "Hey, were you a perv or did you just poorly name the character?" Neither can we dig up the men who contributed to the holy books and aks which interpretation is the "correct" one.
Why do people have this rift between interpretations from the Koran? Human subjectivity, and nothing more.

firstly it was god who wrote the bible, it was prophets and followers who originally wrote the bible in hebrew and other ancient languages.
Over time it has been translated into many languages including english, however usually when we read the bible the version was translated many years ago in a shakspearean type of language. This makes many words in the bible incomprehensible to people today because they are no longer in use.
However even if the bible was retranslated into a modern context i think it would be unlikely to find a single meaning from certain phrases. as many words and phrases are interpreted by the reader in a different way, kind of like a horoscope.

The Bible is not to be "interpreted" as if interpreting a foreign language. It is to be read and studied for what it is, the word of God. Where it is historical, it is to be read as history, where it speaks of doctrine, read as such. It does contain analogies, metaphors, alliterations, and parables. It also contains poetry and proverbs, which are to be understood as that. It is really written on a very elementary level. The Bible clearly says that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.

I guess I'll start with Islam. Islam is a religion where war is only sanctioned as a means of self defense. These "violent verses" are all in reference to an actual JUSTIFIED war. In other words; let's take Hitler for example, a man who lead one of history's largest genocides against the Jews. Even those who promote peace have to stick up for justice when he killed so many innocent peoples. In this case, God would advise us "to fight until there is no more oppression." AFter all the Koran says to only "fight those you fight against you." As for the CHristians...I don't know what to say. Peace.

It wasn't God that created differing "interpretations".... That was man's fault......
Man had to know the meaning of it... and when he decided to change the translations, they re-translated and retranslated until it changed the meaning of the words.........
Just recently, there was a denomination of Catholicism that broke from the traditional and re-created their own....
Another re-thinking of the faith because the leader of the group was gay...... Some did not think that women ought to preach in church..... and some do not agree that God was okay with the sin of homosexuality......
I do not bring this up to condemn anyone... but to offer a genuine and conclusive understanding as to why there are different ways that the bible is being looked upon........
And it is because not all agree with each other... .and so a new translation becomes born.......

interpretation of Quraan needs a person who should learn many thing that he will be able to understand the meaning and intrpret the Holy Quran . It is full of Holy secrets . The diffrence of intrepretations came from that certain ppl do not have the knowledges that assissit and qualify them to intrpret the Holy Quraan .
According to Bible cos those who intrptet it ,they depen upon their own wills also cos many changemets happenhed in the Bible , so we believe in Bible as Holy Book but we also believe the it is changed so no one can reach the truth
