I have been trying to figure this out. I need to know so I may learn more about it. I do not believe in God, nor heaven or hell. I do believe that souls remain after death, and cross over to another dimension. I believe in the cross communication of the living and souls. I believe that a person should live by morals and positive actions, and should be held accountable to such.I do believe that earth and all animals are sacred. Thanks in advance. Happy New Year.

I'd have to say this sounds a bit of a mix between Buddism, Taoism, Native American Indian...reason I suggest these is because I have studied each of them and I incorporate those teachings from each of these (that strike me the most) and meld them into my life. Each of these beliefs have similarities to those that you already have in your life.

I've found that I am far more content, secure, open minded and happy that I really wish I'd not "wasted" so many years trying to make another religion work for me that really just threw test after test and used threats of damnation to try and keep me on the straight and narrow. To say I feared dying? Understatement. Now, with my current beliefs in place, I have absolutely no fear...very strange actually.

This plus a few other beliefs from different areas, have worked incredibly in my life...hope you experience wonderful things through your beliefs

You sound very messed up to me. I am sure you are going to get every witch, pagan and buddist telling you that you are like them.
I do not promote any religion i promote a relationship with Jesus Christ. First off you can't be a athiest period they do not exist you could be agnostic ( they just don't know ). Athiest can't exist because they will tell you they do not know everything and as they do not know everything a athiest can't exist. To them God exist outside of there knowedge base. As really you at this time would be a agnostic.
As I am sure you are a logical minded person. I would bet you have read a little bit here and there but truth be know you are right now trying to figuare it all out. You look at the world and see a mess and say were is God in all this. I really understand your concern i was like you once! Many were! So were do you go from here.
In any logical study you always go back to the people who knew. If you wanted to study atomic bombs you would look to the men that designed the first one. In studying weather God exist or not you would want to study the torah and the prophets then compare the predictions of the prophets which are thousands of years old. If these prodictions came to pass then it points directly to GOD and his existance. A example if you were studying about Jesus being subjected to the cross and being beaten. You would want to study psalms 22:16 They pierced My hands and my Feet. Actually all of psalms 22 is about Christ sufferings. Now the person giving this is the David in a song and he was a prophet as well as a king over Israel. This was 3500 years before Jesus came and died on the cross.
Prophet also spoke about Israel being send into captivity and then being restored thousands of years before those things took place and it happened. So it would be hard to denounce there teachings. But do not take my word for it. You ask God to show himself and and the truth he will. He does not desire that one person suffer much less suffer hell. God is love and he is kind and forgiving. God is not the auther of confusion satan is.
You are right that animals have a soul. But people have a spirit. The soul is nothing more then the will of a person and his mind and emotions. The spirit is the light of God in a person. All people are born with them but there spirit is dead due to sin. That is why Jesus was sent to give live back to all who believe on him. He brings your spirit to life again.
God bless you may you find the real answer as so many have. I know God or i would not speak to you about God.

You are closer to a Buddhist than anything.

Buddhism does not belive in a Heaven or Hell or a God. The Buddhists believe that life is defined by suffering and the ultimate goal of that life is to transcend that suffering and atain Nirvana. They also believe in a kind of reincarnation, but the Buddha said it was more akin to 'the flame of one candle used to light the wick of another.'

Buddhists hold that all life is sacred and is more of a philosiphy than a bonafied religon. I really like and appreicate Buddhism because it does not tell people they are intrinsicly bad. However, I am not a Buddhist.

Budhism? The teachings of Budha involves all living creatures to have a special and sacred place on the Earth. Reincarnation is very strong in their beliefs and they too believe in living our lives positively and with morals that enriches our lives, others, animlas and Earth.
A Happy and Peacefull New Year to you.

You seem to choose what you wish to believe in, rather than base it on some sort of evidence. Perhaps you believe some things that you think would be nice if they were true. Trouble is, there are many hard issues in the reality of life that you've missed out on.

I don't know if there's a name for that. Sounds a bit like "new age" to me.

If you do not believe in a god then you are an atheist. You just seem to be on the more irrational side of it..with the whole souls, afterlife and different dimensions thing. Unlike Christians who won't claim the more irrational of the flock as Christians, we won't say you're not an atheist because you are one.

I know of no single name to encapsulate that set of beliefs. To live by morals and positive actions is a moral belief, not a religious one. If you have any evidence of a separate soul, I would be pleased to hear about it.

Well,

Only you can decide what you believe... though there will always be a legion of people who'd just love to tell you what to believe.

The best I can do is to point you to the following links and tell you to read and explore for yourself. No one can tell you what to believe unless you allow them to. Talk is cheap. Learn, explore, grow...live and love, no one can do it for you.

Wiccan or any other Pagen religion would do. Look in to pre-christian believes in England.
