I know that cellulite is very common, but I am absolutely disgusted with mine! Before anyone starts accusing me of being fat or lazy - slow down! I am an active, slim young woman and I hate that I have it. If anybody knows of any products or fairly inexpensive treatments/procedures I would greatly appreciate it...

Hi, I'm young and skinny to, I am US size 2 and I USED to have cellulite. Running will help, but Pilate's saved me, it exercises all your core muscles and disperses the cells that have collected the fluid (which is what cellulite is). The other thing is Guam salts in the bath, soak in a bath full of that. Try a combination of what I have mentioned oh and the other thing, DRINK PLENTY OF WATER. A recent research has suggested that the body 'hold on' to fluid if you don't drink enough. Hope I have helpd.

Since cellulite is a structural issue (muscle) it can be fixed with simple and unique body movements which target the cellulite areas. These types of moves can be followed by any woman, regardless of her age or fitness level. And it doesn?t matter if the cellulite started in the early teen years, or after pregnancy, or after menopause, it?s still a structural issue that results from soft, un-toned muscles underneath the saggy, dimpled, shadowy skin. As a medical researcher I don't really recommend phony lotions, painful treatments, crazy skin-brushing, useless body-wrapping or toxin-Flushing pill-scams. Cellulite is caused by two things, 1) Fatty tissue and 2) Connective tissue. The appearance of cellulite is caused when the width of the fatty tissue exceeds the width of the connective tissue and when the connective tissue loses elasticity.

The first can be taken care of primarily by diet and working out. Drink your fair share of water, don't eat too much and work out to maintain your metabolism. The second is more problematic and gets worse as you age because collagen is not regenerated so the tissue becomes less elastic and of course most people gain weight as they age because of a less active life style and a drop in metabolism.

There are treatments out there that are supposed to be able to help with both the fatty tissue and the connective tissue. The treatments reduce the fat and provide elasticity to the connective tissue. Some of their names include Mesotherapy, Velasmooth and Endermologie. Explanations for all can be found on the attached site.

Women are spending significant amounts of money to fight visible cellulite. And many women don’t want or need the extreme measure of surgery. You can now get results from an at-home anti-cellulite system proven to work — and clinical results show a reduction of up to 1⁄ 2 inch on each thigh in as little as 12 weeks, seeing improvement in 3 weeks

The system’s powerful mix of ingredients, including botanicals, helps level out lumps and bumps and leaves skin feeling perfectly hydrated all day long. And there’s no need for any heavy-duty rubbing — just gently massage into skin as you would a body lotion. Extensive testing in our Mary Kay Skin Care Laboratories found that the innovative ingredients:

• Reduce the amount of cellulite-causing cells.
• Stimulate cellular activity.
• Strengthen the skin’s support system so cells are less able to break through and cause dimpling on the surface.

Plus, the TimeWise® Cellu-Shape™ Contouring System is formulated to improve microcirculation.

The TimeWise® Cellu-Shape™ Contouring System works day and night to fight cellulite with an advanced, multitargeted approach. TimeWise® Cellu-Shape™ Daytime Body Moisturizer is a supercharged formula that stimulates cellular activity, significantly increases the skin’s hydration level and begins the firming and toning process. TimeWise® Cellu-Shape™ Nighttime Body Gel completes the firming and toning process, strengthening the skin’s support system in problem areas so the visible signs of cellulite are minimized. It also moisturizes the skin so it feels silky-smooth to the touch. Plus, there’s no need for heavy-duty rubbing with either product — just gently massage into skin as you would a body lotion

The sooner you start using the daily system, the quicker you'll see results. In addition to the dramatic benefits seen by dermatologists in clinical testing, in consumer testing, 6 out of 10 women saw skin that was significantly firmer, more toned and smoother in just 3 weeks

I am skinny too and have it and have been active my whole life. My mom has it and it is just genetics. The best thing I know that makes it less noticable is getting a tan.
