This is a new one to me and I'm sure to keep you in my watchlist to view other answers. I really suggest that you talk with a doctor who would be able to determine if further diagnosis is needed and to find out if it is hereditary. Regards to your young 18 month old daughter suffering from the night terror, I'm not sure what she's doing to determine this and I would mention this to her Pediatrican as well as your husbands illness.
Babies sometimes move abruptly or they make funny/weird noises in their sleep. This is not uncommon.
I wish you and your family a healthy 2007. Happy New Year!!!

Do you mean night terrors or nightmares? My daughter used to have night terrors. She'd wake up screaming and I couldn't wake her up. She'd have no memory of the event the next day. When she had nightmares, she'd be scared, be able to tell me what she dreamed, and she'd remember what happened the next day.

For night terrors my doctor said to wake her up after she goes to sleep, right before you would expect her to have the episode. This changes the sleep cycle and eventually gets them out of the pattern they're in.

For my daughter, I found she usually had the episodes when she had to go to the bathroom. So I'd take her to the toilet and then she'd usually go back to sleep. Some kids are thirsty or have some other physical need, but they're in a deep sleep and can't respond to it. I'd talk to your doctor though especially if your dh is violent.

this could be something from his past taht he is repressing- whether is be a past life or something in this life. try hypnotism. smetims taht will root out the cause of the prblem. also, try talking to your priest, becuase if your daughter adn your husband both have them- esp on teh same night- it could be something having to do with spirits....

other than that, make sure that when they wake up from these taht you are very re0assuring, and calm. when he wakes up violent, speak calmly, rationaly, and try to leave the room if posssible. try also to lock yourself in your child room or the bathroom if things get taht bed- take your child with you.

Pray and it shall be answered.

the answer to this question has little or no to do with your daughter's point of adulthood. it incredibly is all approximately hormones ... his and hers. i does no longer experience mushy with a freshman in extreme college surprising with a guy that lots older than she is. in very fact, he's an person and he or she's a new child.

There are pills to supress dreams. Your husband can take these (probably have to go to the doctor) and he will not dream at all. No good dreams, no bad dreams. As for your daughter, she is a little young...

Lord....................... they need Jesus. I would be scared out of my mind. I don't know what your religious beliefs are, but the only thing that comes to mind is prayer. You need to pray fro both of them and your husband need to pray for himself. Try the "Our father prayer".
