Take your credit report and find the account number of the derogatory info then go to the web site for each individual credit bureau. Find the on line dispute button, follow the instructions to dispute. The only thing is when it asks for reasons you need to select " NO KNOWLEDGE OF THIS ACCOUNT" nothing else. Don't write an explanation, don't try to document just keep it simple the less they know the better .. It makes a difference, a little known fact to the typical consumer. You will receive a new credit report in 30 days showing their decision. Hope this helps Good Luck

It takes 7 years or longer for a bankruptcy to be removed from a credit bureau. If the report is only on your husband it shouldn't affect your credit report. Your husbands bankruptcy regardless of the reasons sends a strong message to credit granters that he does not honour his financial obligations as required and is a poor credit risk. If the debts involved in the bankruptcy have been paid in full the credit report should indicate this but the bankruptcy will remain on the record for a minimum of 7 years. And rightly so.

If there are errors on a credit report they can be corrected but it is not a simple procedure. You can contact each of the 3 credit agencies, and they will go back to the original creditor to verify any changes prior to changing it on the report. You will need a good atty. to help you with this. I don't know if it makes much difference since bankruptcy remains on your credit report for i believe 7 years.

send a copy of bankcruptcy to the credit bureau and ask them to delette all the items that included in the bankcrupt, and update the accurate one.

This is a huge mess and you are setting yourself up for a lot of aggravation if you try to fix it yourself. I suggest you let a credit repair company do the leg work.

Any debts charged off in BK should read "included in BK". They will fall off 7 years from the date of 1st delinquency. The BK should fall off in 10 or less.
