It’s just I have got so much energy, way more than I am used to because of all the weight I have lost. Will I eventually get used to having more energy than I am used if yes then how long? And it has affected my sleeping pattern and my daily routine what do I do?

Yes it is quite normal what you are experiencing. When we change our eating patterns and food we are no longer eating the 'heavy' foods that make us feel tired and heavy. Add to this an exercise regime and energy levels rise, when we start to like what we see in the mirror the feel good chemicals kick in also. All of these changes take time for us to get used to and we do.
Maintaining weight loss and exercise is critical as we are creatures of habit and can easily slip back into old eating patterns etc.
Your sleep patterns will even out eventually, exercise early in the day so you have time to wind down, Before going to bed, have a low calorie/kilojoule drink eg hot chocolate and meditate for 10-15 minutes so your mind has time to clear of the day and you can have a comfortable nights rest.
Congratulations on your weight loss and all the best for 2007.

I noticed that too. I have lost about 30 pounds in the last couple years and I feel alot better and lot more energy { sometimes that is} To me I still need at-least 7 or 8 hours of sleep. On my days off I like to take a nap once in awhile. Yes you will get used of the new born energy that you used to have long time ago. The more energy that you have the better off you will be later on in life.

You are bound to have more energy after weight loss, this is normal. Your body is adjusting to the 'new you'. You will adapt soon enough . May I suggest that you cut out caffeine from your diet. This includes, coca cola, coffee, tea and chocolate. There are caffeine free products on the market, you just have to check the labels. You will find that once you abolish caffeine, your sleep pattern will settle down. But please make the most of the 'more energy syndrome', this will help you to keep your weight down and keep you fit at the same time.

It is normal to have more energy; you don't have to lug around that sack of lard anymore! Put it to good use by walking or running to keep off the weight. I found I needed much less sleep and the sleep was more revitalising but hardly knew what to do with myself. Take up an energetic or positive hobby. Maybe salsa dancing or something you have always wanted to do.

I wouldn't say Hyper, but any major weight loss WILL Improve Mental and Physical Motivation!

Relax, it will all settle down as your body begins to enjoy NOT Hauling excess weight around!

It depends. If it has persisted more than a couple of week, I would see your doctor.

What you describe can be symptoms of Bi-polar disorder since hyperactivity is different from just a little excess energy. And mania effects sleep cycle (less sleep). It could also be hyperthyroidism or several other things. I'm not diagnosing you but please see your doc if it keeps up ;)
