Migrating to other places than native is forced due to the better economy and chances for saving some thing earned.
Obviously Europe and North America are richest places in the world where even you spend half of your earning still you live a good enjoyable life. Whereas in Japan the cost of living is too high and you will be keep on travelling all thro out the day in Trains or Bullets.
In China the condition is not so good than India, moreover the culture, temp etc or not fit for Indian who does not beleave much in Communism

Most of the Indians who would like to migrate prefer either Europe or North America. They don't prefer China or Japan because of many reasons.
1.China and Japan are closed societies in which they don't tolerate 'outsiders' easily.
2.Most of the Indians have western education in which English is an integral part. It helps them to be more successful in Europe and America.
3.Compared to China and Japan, Europe and America are scarcely populated which the Indians consider a vital factor.
4.People and Governments of Europe and North America are tolerant and accommodating to the Indians than the Chinese or Japanese.
5.The Chinese and the Japanese nationalist thinking, compels them to speak and promote their local languages which the Indians find less welcoming.
6.The Indians are more comfortable with the European and American culture than the Chinese and Japanese largely due to the widespread availability of Western art and literature in India.
Still I think many Indians are more than curious about both China and Japan for very many reasons.

I believe most people migrate mainly because of herd mentality. What I mean is that one wants to migrate to a particular country because other people have done the same. Then we rationalise by saying that these countries are so indianised and hence it is easy to live there. This is a self fulfilling prophecy. Obviously as more and more people migrate, these countries will become more indigenised and then even more will migrate because of that.
I am personally an NRI staying in Bahrain, working in an MNC bank. living in the best of conditions, but still looking forward to go back home at the first opportunity.

China is a a communist country and except the big cities the standard of life is very poor and the way of life is no western standard. By the way, I don´t think that Indian mentality goes along well with communism...
... and Japan, well, apart from the language, the Japanese society is very strange towards foreigners, it takes a century to understand their way of thinking...
In the USA, Canada and UK the official language is English, so it´s much easier to immigrate to these countries.
in other European countries such as Germany, France or Spain there does exist already an Indian community and all these countries are used to immigration and normally you can integrate easy in their communities...

Its because of many reasons, like 1) better job opportunities 2) better government 3) freedom of speech and religion 4) family ties 5) host country is better portrait to outsiders 6) easier to migrate and the list goes on. There is no just one reason but a combination of many.

Because North Americans are notorious for not knowing Geography at all. One of my classmates in PoliSci was asked to point to the Philippines on the world map and after 10 minutes pointed to Bermuda. I can only speak for my education experience, I've traveled a lot since school and I have to say much of my education was very provincial, ethnocentric almost to the point of group agoraphobia. Hopefully that is changing. the world gets smaller every day.

Japanees are xenophobe and only need cheap philipinos and Philipinas labour force. Therefore. Indians have no scene there in Japan. China is not a democratic country and overly populated just like India.

People would rather go to a rich country. I don't know if China would let you in, but I doubt it. Your chances of getting into Japan are like a snowball in hell.

a very good question indeed,,,its related to human psychology...there are many reasons to it,,,when a man wants to immigrate to some country ,,what actually he is doing is searching for some better conditions of living...he wants change in weather,,he wants different work culture,,he wants different different atmosphere where he can easily be accepted,,,,as indians are much better acquainted wid english than japanese, korean, chinese etc.....they become part of western societies much easily,,,also china, japan are highly populated nations as India and they do not offer much needed change in living standards...also that Indians are immigrating to western countries since very long time..therefore Indians have a society there which is dedicated to interests of Indians away frm homeland,,,also it is fact that west has been source of constant opportunities, and western economies are much more open to rest of world,,west has established best schools for higher education which become attraction to youth of developing countries like India ,western so cities are far more amiable n accepting coz of their mixed culture....western societies are far more democratic and liberal which also have been known to introduce democracy to rest of world.....hence there are reasons such as language,,culture,,liberalism...opportunities ..education...NRI's..etc etc
