First you have to establish a very good handicap. And then you have to go to PGA tour qualifying school to earn a tour card. This tour card will allow you to compete in PGA sanctioned events as a professional.

Or...

You can play in the U.S open and win a tour card (by winning the event)

Or you can play on the nationwide tour and win your PGA tour card by winning a certain amount of events

I know there is a school that specializes in helping people get into the golf profession, not just as a teaching pro, but other golf careers as well. Called San Diego Golf Academy, they have locations all across the USA.

You should be able to get some free info from them.

I looked into the pgtaa if you want to get into the golf business hope you have about 25 grand and know some people because its expensive and is a who knows who business.
