We are in our early 20's and have been faithfully together 2 years.
Our intentions are to wait until marriage.
Lately, it has become overwhelmingly difficult to abstain, quite possibly because we are seperated by some distance temporarily, and become that much more eager when we see each other.

We need to re-convince ourselves. We're committed, planning to get married, and it's tough! We've both had another partner previously. We have no concern about pregnancy or STDs to shy us away.

We need a laundry list of benefits on why to wait!

the best part of waiting is knowing that your wedding night will be all the more special. i don't know how seriously you are taking abstinence...if you abstain completely from all sexual activity or just intercourse...but if you are only keeping clear of intercourse then have as much fun as you can with all of the other wonderful ways to share yourselves physically with one another....those are often the best parts of sex anyway.

The ultimate reason for waiting for sex until you're married is because God ordained sex for just that--marriage. Sex is a beautiful thing when it is done the way God intended it. Outside of marriage it becomes dirty and wrong. Anytime we do things God's way it is blessed and prosperous. If you wait, God will bless you for it.
Unfortunately, I was not serving God at the time I chose to have sex before marriage. It caused terrible insecurities and problems in my marriage and a host of problems for my child who was born out of wedlock.
God's plan is perfect and although your marriage will not be perfect you will avoid much uneccessary trouble if you wait.
Please wait-----it's worth it. I would love to go back and do stuff the right way, but God is so good to forgive and have mercy and I have the most wonderful child and wouldn't trade him for the world, but sadly enough he has to suffer for mom's mistakes!
Congratulations on refraining so far.....hang in there! When you're together, make sure others are around and don't be alone to help avoid those temptations.
God did say it was better to marry than burn with lust. Might want to think about pushing the wedding up a little closer?? :)

Two things...

First do not wait. You two will be missing some valuble together time. Think of the time you already wasted not doing it. All that abstaining is for... well nuns and priest and even they don't abstain (wife was an ex- nun and told me the scoop).

Second... what if she makes some weird noise during or is really not good at it. That would be a lifetime of oh mannnn I wish I knew.

Well thats my 2 cents

oh please wait. your marriage will be so much happier. My bf and i have been together for 2 years also so i know its hard.

1. I know your future marriage will be so much better if you wait. i have heard of many studies that prove doing it before marriage can lead to divorce. God will bless your marriage.

2. Wouldnt you like to tell your little when she's your age that you guys didnt do it and she shouldnt either. what comes around goes around.

3. Dont you want to look forward to your honeymoon night? seriously... wont it be awesome if its really your first time.

4. Dont you want your GF to be rightfully wearing white and proud of herself on the big day?

Good luck. i dont see why you would want to give in now after all this time of saving it. that would be a waste. just hang in there.

benefits thats really hard to answer. exspecially when you don't wait til you get married. I'm glad to see some people still think its a good idea to wait til they get married to have sex. you really don't hear that much these days. but when you two fianlly do it . exspecially on your honey moon it will be the day that you will never forget. giving each other yourself. that is the best feeling you both will have, and you will be happy that you waited. have a happy new year. and congradulations on the up coming wedding.

If yous really love each other sex is not gonna change anything between yous and only make the bond you have stronger.. sex is not that big of a deal if yous really love each other.. just save yourself the torture of asking anymore of these questions and go and buy a box of condoms and just do it already.. sex does not have to be a bad thing as people often make it out to be and if yous love each other what is that gonna change... It wont change anything :) :) :)

There are no benefits. What if you find out after you got married that you are not compatible sexually? Are you going to divorce her? Sex is a very important part of any relationship, and to not know what you're getting into before you get married is a stupid idea.

Some people want to wait until their wedding night to consummate their feelings. The consensus from people I know say that to do so is crazy. Why? If you have not spent time in the mutual development of your sexual chemistry, your wedding night could be a disaster.

Thus, I have no real list of benefits to offer.

The only thing that I can say is do`nt give in now and cheapen your relationship by losing control.I admire anyone that can do the right thing.Build your house on solid rock and not on sinking sand.
