It is perfectly acceptable to use an a frame,PROVIDING the towed vehicle has inertia brakes if weighing over 750kg.

There are also regulations governing the length of the train.

Of course the light s on the vehicle need to operate in accordance with the towing vehicle.

I have seen such combinations in use.The towed vehicles being Fiat126.Therefore avoiding the need for separate braking for towed vehicle.

To comply with the regulations, the train also needs to comply with the manufacturers guide on towing.

My parents did this after their retirement. you honestly do now not even desire a fifth wheel to tow a trailer. My parents had a 15 ft fibreglass trailer. The eating area switched over very honestly to a mattress, and the bathroom and bathing room sink were in a splash alcove on the very the front. In between replace into kitchen. No bathe facility, yet then optimal campgrounds have those available. It replace into all tight and compact, and about as plenty the residing room as optimal 40 foot boats provide. They towed this utilizing heavy duty shocks and transmission on a 6 cylinder engined motorcar (2 diverse ones over the ten years they travelled). Supremely basic to tow with the mini SUV's available now. And that way you inspite of the fact which have your motorcar (now not too great) to disconnect and get round with, as straight away as you've set up your campsite.

It is perfectly legal to use either an A-frame or a trailer. Used an A-frame for a number of years and never had a problem.

A-frames are perfectly suitable but your speed is limited to 50mph. This just means that you'll be overtaken by even the slowest old granny. Check out www.theaa.com. They will be able to give you the full s.p.

You can use either. I wouldn`t use an A frame abroad though. It`s a bit of a grey area, and you could get pulled up over it.
