i know i could do it. i have thought long and hard about it, but i know that if someone i loved, or heck, even BARELY KNEW was in grave danger, i would take the risk. however, i don't think i could strangle someone to death. the only ways that i could completely kill someone was with a gun or a knife. i agree with you on the not believeing in taking another persons life. i also disagree with the death penalty.

It would be an extremely confusing situation, because I know what my "human" reaction is. But by nature, I can have very, . . . . violent tendences . . . before becoming a Christian. But I realize that my family is not the most important thing to me, and I am not the most important thing to my family. The most important thing to me, is my relationship with God. We love each other dearly, and after our dedication to God, we love each other with every fiber of our being. But our first obligation is to God's commandments.

My first response, would be to do what Proverbs states and teaches:

"The name of Yahweh is a strong tower: the righteous run to him, and are safe." - Proverbs 18:10.

I would pray, out loud, to him for help; using his personal name. There are many real life examples, where miraculous occerences happened when a person understands that the name of God, Yahweh, or "Jehovah" in English is not a magical charm, but when it is cried aloud as a desire to know him as a person, as a safe refuge, and in the desire for more accurate knowledge so you can have a relationship with him? Then the righteous are protected from harm. The unrighteous try to use his name like a "magic charm", and well, the scripture did say who exactly would be protected.

I know, I experienced one first hand. The violent attacker in the middle of chocking the life out, simply stopped by the time I got out: "Please, help me to stay obedient Jehovah". I mean, BY THE TIME THE "H" was at the end of my tounge. Turned around. And walked away. Don't ask me to explain it, because I can't, other than what is in that verse. I didn't ask to take the problem away. Thankfully however, that must have been the answer that time.

Im so so sorry. I think that 3 weeks is way to soon. As a girl it would take me about 4 or 5 months. Im not sure about how fast guys get over things, but when the time is right and your ready, you'll know. Tell your family that.

You never know how you will react. Maybe you will do something other than kill to get to safety. Did you see that 4 year old boy whose 5 year old sister had a gun at her head from a bugler. He put his Power Ranger suit on and got his fake sword and went out acting like a Power Ranger, swinging the sword? The robbers saw him and ran out the door. He saved his family.

Yes, but keep in mind there are conditions to meet if it is to be self defense and not a murder charge. One is that it is a clear and present danger. The second is that you only used necessary or reasonable force.(ie. If you have them down and tied up you should turn them in, instead of just excecuting them, no matter how tempting that is)

My Baby Daughter means the world to me, IF she was in danger and someone was trying to kill her then yes then and ONLY then I would stop the person from hurting my Daughter. I would try and NOT kill. but if I had to then YES for my Daughter I think i could.

I'm a Christian and I think God would understand.

I know that we can never really answer this until we're in the situation but I have this strong thought that if it meant my wife's life, I'd have no problem pulling the trigger to kill the perpetrator.

If I didn't do all to stop them then I would be guilty also. I would kill to prevent murder. But I do pray that I would never have to do that. If the situation arises I would pray to God to help me stop that person. I think God would help me to do that without killing them, but they take their own life in their own hands when they choose to do this evil. I would stop them by any means nesesary up to and including death.

You can and you should defend yourself and your family but do not transgress the limits of your defence or you will be the aggressor. Stop all the hostilities when the danger is no more.

I could. One of my friends (later a girlfriend) was raped, and since I have zero tolerance of that, the guy is lucky I never met him. People can say what they want about me, but no one hurts my family or friends.
